load a couple of videos and you are out of space, I need at least 64gb for it to be a no hassle slate
Do you know where I can get floppy disk drives from?

If all you really need the extra storage for is watching movies, just unlock + root the device and, hey presto, USB drive mounting possible.
I used the WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit and followed this guide:

Couldn't have been simpler! Slapped CWM on it and installed the Motley kernel v1.1.1 build 219, from here:

Been watching 720p movies from a USB drive using an OTG cable (£1.50 from Amazon Marketplace) and StickMount. This is the drive if you're interested, works brilliantly and the write speeds are way above the 30MB/s estimate via USB3!

Much cheaper than paying a huge premium for extra on-board storage and I now have plenty of space on the tablet for apps, docs + music. Also running Nova launcher and a stable overclock of 1.5GHz using the recommended System Tuner app - everything runs much smoother. Especially games, been playing Dead Trigger using my PS3 controller (search 'Sixaxis Controller' in the Play store).
So many benefits to rooting, and the device is otherwise fantastic.

I know, kinda put me off at first too, but my missus has a 16GB ipad and is still no where near using it up.
IMHO
Playbook has better build quality, 4x bigger storage, and £60 less
Nexus 7 has better apps, stronger CPU
Screen is equal, lower resolution in playbook but better quality.
Currys/PC World had a load of 10" Xoom's available for £135 last week but that doesn't make the Samsung cold. Different people want different things, I'm in the market for a 7" as I want something light and portable to travel with.

I dont think so.

Only ~80 Xoom available and the deal expired in very short time.
If the Xoom deal you mentioned was big enough like the Playbook 64 GB deal, I think the Samsung Tab 10 will not get hot like this.
link please ....

Did they honour the price then ?
