anyone had one of these that can verify those speeds - as that seems much faster than the normal sandisk/kingston ones. if really that quick - this should get superhot

How do you work that out when it doesn't have a cap? You push the end and...

Speed in mb/s plz.

Another thread from last year says

read speed at 170x (24.9MB/s) and write speed at 65x (9.5MB/s)

Can't verify it though.

Each unit on the USB speed table is 150k so:

170 x 150 / 1024 = 24.9 MB/s
65 x 150 / 1024 = 9.5 MB/s

sweet deal cheers :)

Dane elec support is terrible

yep, terrible bordering on completely non-existent..
they do make good quality drives though.

Interestingly looking at their clearance section a duracell flash drive (similiar/same desgin) is priced at something like double the price of this.

USB is way to slow eSATA flashdrive are way faster they cost abit more but its faster than firewire
most new pc have them but if don't have this port it don't cost much upgrade or just wait in til USB 3.0 flashdrives are out 2.0 will die out

eSata is nice and fast but not always practical. The advantage of USB is of course legacy support, it'll work on any machine you come across from the past decade or so unlike esata which has limited support by comparison. Secondly USB3.0 will help speeds considerably inside the next 18 months, it'll hardly matter

well my firewire file transfer is 30 secs uploading 12 hd movies
now my webcam via firewire looks like live tv
now my pc is 6 yr's old
but like you said USB 2.0 is widely available and interface is better for most dvd players
and other products

I want one of those! 12HD movies in 30sec!
My firewire is unfortunately limited to to write speed of my fastest HD, which is about 90meg/s. So in 30s I can only transfer about 1/2 of a HD movie.

Worth saying as well that 7dayshop are a disaster. Screwed a bunch of us on their recent Sky+ remote deal (the things were cheap and didn't work). I had forgotten until I tried to sort out return of the remote that they had also messed me around with a digital camera order back in '05 when it took 2 months and multiple emails to get my refund. I will avoid them in future even if the deals sound fantastic.

your offering an alternative for double the price...lol

So the speed is good and the price but the build quality isn't?

Two reviews from there:
Nice concept.
Exce-pt that the sleeve comes straight off instead of the cap!

Don't know whether this is a poor example or whether they are all like it - this won't last long in use.

DT

Capless design concept nice.

Unfor-tunately flawed - as the slide falls off the USB stick!

Not robust.

Seems like the large plastic part that slides to reveal the USB connection falls off, anybody have one of these?

Brought two of these last week (I would have posted it but I didnt realise it was such a good deal lol)...These are way way faster than the Sandisk, Kingston and ebuyer sticks that I have (All the dvd players in the house have usb support - Saves the kids scratching disks and ruining lasers).

HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for XBOX 360 USAGE - Plug these babies in and the 360 tells you they will work perfectly with the system (Only ones ive come across). These two are now going in the 360 and im buying some more for the kiddiewinks!
