Ordered for my Desire :-)

Any idea on speeds for this ?
Currently using a Sandisk 4gb MicroSD for the Wii so if this is of similar spec wouldn't mind the upgrade.
#4

Well I thought that I would wait for a C4/C6 as they were too slow, but read the comments (most recent one from play) that convinced me.

Just had a look at MyMemory - Kingston 16gb Class 4, use BACKFORGOOD code = £20.80 (plus Quidco too :)). Hope this helps.

Class 2 I believe.
Some faster than others.
Play generally use Toshiba for their SD, this probably likewise

I'm tempted to get this for my Desire, but is class 2 fast enough? One of the comments have put me off saying its not good for music - which is the main thing I would want it for!

"class 2" is a minimum speed spec ... seems some class 2's are faster than others. I bought a 16GB Sandisk "class 2" but according to the android SD card speed test app its on the borderline between class 4 and 6. N.b the access pattern of the test may not be worst case (looks like it does a long burst of writes followed by a long burst of reads) and the "class 2" may relate to a worst case where reads and writes are much more interleaved.

I have one of these and it does 7.15Mb/s write, 18.6Mb/s read, average, so not bad at all.
#11
higher class speeds means higher reads and write to the card need one for my android phone with swap and a2sd thats why i need a class 4 and higher card

thanks EDEN188

Not necessarily as the class rating refers to the MINIMUM read / write speed.
Read / write speeds will vary depending on file type and architecture.

Not you don't, although you do seem to be easily led by marketing.

Oh wow, these seem to have come down in price lately. Might need to keep an eye on this, my Galaxy S could do with a bit more space.

Same site Samsung class 6 is £34.99
Tried to buy 32GB but to many fakes around .

If i buy one i can stick my maps on the original 8 gb card and keep this one for general use .

Thanks good buy.

Too right there are too many fakes around. I've bought memory cards from ebay before and they've always been fine. But I've bought 32gb cards from 3 different sellers recently and they've all been fake. Bit of a hassle trying to get refunds. I might have to bite the bullet and pay full whack for the 32gb.
