Looks decent enough, wouldn't hurt if someone could run some tests on it if they're buying.

I just ordered one, thought I'd take a chance.

Its a Class 6 card so should be ok + its has a 5yr warranty

Class 2: minimum sustained DTS of 2MB/sec
Class 4: minimum sustained DTS of 4MB/sec
Class 6: minimum sustained DTS of 6MB/sec

I would've gone for one, but I just bought an 8GB one for £15 last week, grrr!

Whats the maximum cameras that can take sdhc cards can read - as sd were max like 2 gb
#7
Anyone know how fast these are compared to SSD in an EEE?

depends on the camera, it will generally be in the manual somewhere or on the manufacturers website, generally it is 8GB though.

Back on topic ... looks like a very good deal, never heard of them though, and why would the cheapest of the lot be the fastest of the lot? I'm just a bit weary :(

Heat added though as it is a good deal.

Watch these non branded/grey import ones, they could brick your camcorder, even if it's a class 6

Also want to know the answer to. My EEE PC 901 could benefit from this.

Good Deal,
As an alternative amazon have a transcend class 6 16gb for 27.44 - no reviews yet but the reviews of the class 6 8gb transcend SDHC are very good.
For the person who asked about the eee, I think there SSD's are around 20-30mb/sec, so a lot faster than sd cards. they are in my 901 anyway.

I very much doubt that it will be as fast as the primary SSD soldered into the 701, 900 (12 / 20 GB) and 901.

The second (removable) SSD is another story.

Really? I've heard of them not working but not actually damaging equipment.

It would appear "My Memory" is a reputable company, its there own branded card therefore cheaper, its not a brand name like Sandisk or Kingston, it also comes with a 5yr warranty so if its no good send it back? If its Class 6 then it has to perform at that transfer rate / speed surely?

SDHC cards are classified to guarantee a specific sustained DTS.

I have one of these Veho 16Gb cards in my EEE and its superfast. Almost as fast as the built in card. Apparently not all brands are compatible so be sure first. Also my PC wont recognise the card but my lappys do; any ideas anyone? http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/235470/veho-16gb-sdhc-class-6-secure-digit/

I second this, as I have dealt with them (MyMemory) many times, and each time the product was delivered fast, and securely.

Note that your statutory rights allow you to send it back anyway if it's no good (misdescribed), and they can happily put a 5 year warranty on it because it'll be worth about 3p in 5 years' time.

What? that's hilariously untrue. That's like saying a tv ariel could brick your tv.

And the class only related to the speed of the card.

Thats fine having a warranty of 5 years but how much do you value your data???? 16 gig is a lot of photos or video footage to lose:?

I have used the Transcend cards & they are excellent, never had any fail on me:whistling::whistling:

Yep....

I see your point, but I dont see why this card should be any different to any other?????????

Ive used loads of cards SD/XD/CF over the years, unbranded / branded & Ive never had any problems? There is always a chance of failure with any item wether its cheap or expensive.

The fact that the manufacturer gives a 5yr warranty indicates to me that the quality is ok, unless you have used this card & know otherwise of course?

How would that work exactly?

This sounds perfect for the "storage extension" SD-card slot on the Acer Aspire One.

UTTER ****!

There are only around 4 major memory manufacturers worldwide, just as there are only around 4 major manufacturers of LCD & Plasma panels.

To be honest all these companies are much the same in their design. Would you prefer if it was branded with Sandisk or Kingston? The chances are they come out of the same factory off the same production line.

This is a brilliant price and MyMemory are very good.

I have 4gb sdhc card. Should I wait till price gets lower before buying this? It's for my pocket pc. It's always good to have huge storage space, at the moment it's enough space. Do you think price will drop further in six months time?
#30
wow, fantastic price even for an 8gig this would be still pretty decent. for 16 its a bargain
#31
Received my card in the post this morning - terrific service!!
#32
The price seems to have dropped further - Just ordered one for £20.99 delivered!

Thanks op :D
#33
Should I order now or should I wait further? Don't really need a 16Gb SDHC card just yet, but would like to upgrade perhaps in six months time....

Wait!!!

If you don't need it now - bigger/faster will be available and this will more than likely be cheaper in 6 months.

I've ordered one though 'cos it's damn cheap at £20.99

:thumbsup:Thanks. Was about to sell my 2GB SD card to justify this purchase. Husband just gave green light to buy without having to sell it. :) I am currently unemployed mum to be, every pound counts now. Will use the money saved to buy other hukd good deals! I shall wait for next six months then. Not likely to be busy with my pocket pc or its memory now that my new baby will be due in less than two months...

WTF?? This is £20.99 delivered not £24.99
