Morning.

I know we have seen 16GB cards cheaper than this in the past and you can currently get two 8GB cards for around this price, but from what I can see, this seems a good price for a single 16GB Class 6 card at the minute.

Priced at £22.99 plus delivery (£2.99 for UK mainland), but you can use one of the attached free P&P vouchers ("base" or "postmefree") at the checkout to have the delivery charge knocked off. I couldn't get the voucher to work trying to checkout with PayPal, but it seems to work fine if you use the NoChex payment option (you can still use your credit card this way).

Hope this helps,

iecuk

I bought a Class 6 16gb SDHC for about £16.99 about 4 months ago. The same card from the same supplier costs £29.99 now. An indication of the way things are going

What do you mean? :?
#3
he means thing are going up in price... but really its a sweeping meaningless statement.
#4
Basically flash memory is always going down in price.

BUT
The reason prices are creeping up now, is suppliers are restocking at the new exchange rate. Most imported electronic goods will creep up in price this year as well. The new iMacs from apple got more expensive, and when they refresh the iPods in the autumn I reckon they will all creep up in price. They will also have better features of course...

Yes, I do mean things are going up in price and I do accept this is a pretty broad statement but wouldnt say its meaningless. The pound is right down against other major currencies particular the us dollar and this is making everything much more expensive for us in UK

Im just worried if there will be any compatibility issues with the Creative Zen X-Fi 8GB mp3 player

It used to be quite easy to find a laptop with a core2duo processor for under £300, but increasingly less so in the last couple of months

No, my class 6 16gb sdhc was from http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC

I bought the mymemory one too - that Is quite a price hike they've had there (which is a shame, I rarely shopped around for memory cards, as they were always well priced, quick delivery etc.)

In a few months prices for these items should come down again. The pound is currently at its highest level against the dollar in the last 6 months.
#12
Was gonna get this but will hold out until price drops back down to £1.00 per GB.

The pound is recovering well against the dollar and has been for weeks. These will keep coming down in price not the other way. Regardless of currency.

Ah missed your quote. 2nd that £ hit $1.60 today.
#15
that is terrible about price rises -- what a hike -- £ 29 when we are taxed and losing work
bad news indeed
#16
I think we will see prices keep going up for at least another year yet. As well as the currency fluctuatien you have the cost of materials & Transportatian rocketing

Just ordered one and cancelled my pre order for two 8GB cards from Play.com for the same price. I have been looking for a reasonable 16GB card for a week or so....thanks to the original poster.

You took a risk there, trying a search for datakits reviews and see what you find. (good luck btw).

You must be one of the lucky ones then! I ordered a Motorola bluetooth headset in July - i still haven't received the item and can confirm that their customer service is absolutely appalling
