I bought a very similar looking one of these from Aldi a couple of years ago. It was advertised as Halogen but definitely not as no bulb in it. I think it's just a convection oven. It works really well though.

It comes with an attachment that increases capacity to 17L so presumably works a bit like this one (has some pics): Andrew James @ Amazon

I paid a similar price for a 12L one on play.com before Christmas. Great little gadget, cooks food quickly and is dead easy to clean. Gets heat from me.

Whats an extender ring and how does manage to increase capacity by 6 litres?
Also how much less power does it use compared to an oven? Thanks

the ring sits on the top of the glass bowl and makes it deeper then the heater part sits on top of that

so it looks like this

as for the power it takes less time to cook things so it saves money..i cook an avg size chicken in mine in about an hour compared to hour and half in the normal oven

it uses about the same power as a hairdryer so compared to your regular oven its saving a fair bit of energy and there are no preheating. Honestly they are brilliant you can cook anything in them from fish to yorkshire puddings. with a 3 year warranty you cant go wrong plus the cleaning of it is a breeze just put hot water in it with your washing up liquid and turn the dial to clean and the fan combined with the heat from the halogen light cleans the oven.

Thank goodness for this post, was just about to buy a replacement off Amazon (which means no halogen for a few days aahhhhhhhh).

I never use my big oven to cook, only ever use the halogen, it's amazing. Makes the best roast chicken ever :D
