Just popped into Asda and noticed that they are selling the 18 packets of free range eggs for £2.00 again. They are normally £3.18 so definitely a bargain, (well if you use loads of eggs like us it is!)

Shengis where has your avvy gone? Has he been kidnapped? I did not recognise you until myacer88 mentioned the new avvy. Your old avvy is the most easy to recognise. :)

This deal was posted about 6 weeks ago, but is a good reminder to encourage people to buy Free Range.

Wish it had stayed that price in ours, i use at least one of these packets a week. It makes a big difference at this price.

Just buy some chickens (layers), cheaper still :)

I have had these at least 4 times, and each time had a very large proportion of blood spots. I know they can be picked out but they freak me out. I have to pay more to get ones with better quality control.

Our cats would probably enjoy naming them breakfast lunch and dinner, but not sure I could cope with the bother.

Did consider getting a couple of chickens last year but our garden is not secure, kids get in and damage stuff, the kids trampoline was trashed last week, so I dont think chickens would stand a chance. good idea if you have the space though.:)

I've had the asda 18 for £2 and they're a mixture of sizes (quite a few small eggs in there) and, to be honest, they whites are more watery than I'd expect with free range eggs. Which makes you wonder how much growth hormone etc. they've been given (free range doesn't mean they aren't jacked up on steroids and Kettle Chips).

Just been to Sainsburys and they're doing 12 for £2 (1/3 off) - these are all Large eggs and they are a range of woodland-roaming free range eggs which I've had before and thought to be good quality.

So - I'd go for the Sainsburys offer over the Asda one.

Likewise my local ASDA put the price back up and we do eat a lot of eggs, more so these because they are the nicest shop bought eggs i've had! (we sometimes get them from our local chicken farm). So i'm chuffed they have lowered the price again.:-D

The problem with this is that because they are so cheap I keep making loads of cakes, which means I use loads more. So not such a bargain! :)

Not wishing to sound really picky and annoying but recent research has shown that cholesterol level is much more down to genetics and not much to do with diet. If your predisposed to high cholesterol (usually if you have a family history of it) you might want to be cautious but otherwise its probally not worth losing too much sleep over.

Anyway, great deal!

Sort of agree, but we are all conditioned to accept eggs as wholesome food not 'chicken period', but bogey like blood specs were never in my conditioning
