LG optimus 2x

1st Dual Core 1ghz phone on pre-order. I found this as i was looking for phones online, though it was a good deal. Running Android 2.3 and has HDMI out and 1080p recording.

Possible £490 with cashback via quidco, very good deal for those looking for a proper contract without cash back statement collecting jazz.

Vodafone £30 x 18 month, phone is free - 600min, ult text and 500mb internet.

Well as it's £450 sim free it would be a good deal if it actually existed!

After Quidco it's £490 and that includes 18 months at a good tariff. The phone itself is worth around £400 if you wanted to sell and keep the contract.

Ships with 2.2 (Froyo) though the general consensus is that it will get Gingerbread in Q2. Though, what it really needs in order to get the full benefit from the dual core cpu is a Honeycomb version for phones. Which judging by LG's track record may only happen via custom rom's.

This phone has also been rooted by PAul over at Modaco so custom roms are a defo on this hand set. I can see that this could prove it main success over the coming year..

The deal that this points to doesn't seem to have internet included.

They have seemed to have changed the deal:

http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/aw1/phone/LG_Optimus_2X/search.aspx?product=LG_Optimus_2X&intcid=search.aspx

Now you will have to pay £36.63, to get the deal

Has anyone ordered this?

I was having trouble making an order through Dial-A-Phone. And they said it was probably because of me going through Quidco.

All those reviews prove that the hardware is amazing with just a few software kinks easily sorted out with a update, considering they are reviewing pre release models aswell.

Another more meaty review:

GSM Arena Review

LG have a poor rep for updating their phones and getting Gingerbread working on this phone is key. The specs of the do look great but I can see this value of the phone dropping a fair bit once the dual cpu phone competition hots up. The Samsung S2 and Motorola Atrix both look very promising.

Personally, I'm still using my HTC HD2 running pretty much any flavour of Android known to man. Due for an upgrade in June/July so watching how things progress.
