This is Aldi's Glen Marnoch which is actually Dalmore in different packaging.

The 12 yr Old is only £16.99
http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_25016.htm

Somebody who works for the packaging company who supply Whyte & Mackay distillers (who produce Dalmore) passed on this info.
Officially starts tomorrow but will be available in some stores today.

With a try, thanks

Oops too early, should have been worth a try !

Aldi get their Whiskys from multiple distilleries, they are simply overbottling's sold off cheap to Aldi.
Wouldn't be so certain it's from Dalmore (regardless of some rumour you may have heard, source please?).

That said, Aldi's single malts usually get decent reviews, so this is probably worth the money.

Worth a punt for an 18 year single malt at this price.

Should be around £35-40

It doesn't say that it's normally £35-40 on the website. I think the reality is you might be saving 3 quid, not 23 quid.

Can you please tell me where else you can buy 18 year old Scottish single malt for £23 from so that I can get some? Not tried this Aldi stuff but will be buying a bottle to try if I can. It could be muck but £20 for such an aged single malt is cheap and worth a punt.

It's not about any 18 year old malt, it's about one called "Glen Marnoch" which is sold by Aldi.

My source is "Somebody who works for the packaging company who supply Whyte & Mackay distillers."

What else would you like?
A name, an address, a phone number, maybe a one to one meeting.........

If you don't believe it don't buy it or vote the deal cold, it will take some going to reach the depths of some other deals I've posted so I really couldn't care less.

My point was that an 18 yr old Dalmore is normally £35-40
p.s. £19.99 is only £20.01 less than £40 but thank you for your contribution
