Advice needed, which is the better buy ? as I have been looking at this one at Halfcost,
which works out around about the same price after vouchers. :santa:

Samsung are good netbooks. However, the halfcost one is a refurb.... and what vouchers knock £109 off???
#4
seems a decent spec for the price
#5
I was going to say that this is a good price for an MSI Wind, but with the 6-cell battery it is a steal!!!
#6
Black one is £240 :/

Anyone have one of these - any good compared to the Sammy?
#7
its a great bit of kit using this now my wife loves it.its nice and compact yet so light.and its packed with plenty of stuff.blue tooth is spot on, i just got an external dvd player and it makes it that more usable:santa::santa:

Impressive service - 1 hour 20 mins from placing the order, and i've just recieved confirmation that my order has been dispatched ...
#9
I'm assuming i can install things to it from my network ... or do i really need an external drive?
#10
ive been using one of these, but ive one bug bear & that is the battery, wifi, caps on lights at the bottom right of the netbook, why are they there and not at the top, because when your right hand rests there its rubs off all the little symbols :x

 nice price
#14
Thanks Scotty Boy - seems good for the price

Fantastic Service from misco too - as stated above the netbook was dispatched quickly, and even though I went for the 1-3 Working Day delivery option, i recieved an email last night from City Link saying they will deliver on Monday.

Top notch experience so far with Misco - just hope it doesn;t turn up broken after all this :)

Nice Find. Quidco at 3.5% as well, I think. Mine came in at £181.69 at checkout. That extra 74p is a deal breaker !! LoL. We have 3 of the Wind100's in the family. Kids love them for Uni as they are so compact. Put Office 2007 on them, students version and they work just great. Had them about 3 months and really pleased. I like the white one coz at first glance people think you have an Apple-Mac!!
#16
Wow, 5.35 quidco tracked within 2 hours of order placement!! That was quick.:)

I am curious about this too. Particularly whether it is ok for any flash video sites, bbc iplayer, spotify and so on. Anyone have any idea?
#21
I also found this query on another site and wondered if anyone had similar problems

"Just bought a Hannspree Hannsnote SN10E1 for my daughter. With a wireless enabled desktop and 3 lap tops already in the house I had plenty of experience connecting to my Zxcel wireless router. However can't get the Hannsnote to 'see' the wireless network. I was able to switch on Wirelss and Bluetooth modes but couldn't get any further. Advice appreciated."

You can't play HD content fullscreen. Maybe just get away with HD in 'normal view'. Should handle standard def or 640x480 ok.

I'm using the MSI wind u100 (which as others have stated the hannsnote is the same as) and I love it.
Best thing I've bought all year.
Except for maybe my latest pin stripe suit, but you can't really compare a suit with a netbook.
Although I just did.

Buy it anyway.
I paid £200 for mine in argos (black, 3 cell version) and I don't regret it at all.
I got rid of my main computer.
Don't need it now I have this.
Plus this fits in my beautiful antique writing bureaux.

I even use it to update my website when on the move, www.TimTimmington.com.
I run Photoshop CS3 on it fine, whilst listening to Saint-Seans and downloading revealing pictures of pretty celebrities.

And Dosbox, visual basic 6, office 2007, art rage 2, winamp, amongst others.

TO CONCLUDE:
Buy it. It's goood.

would i be right in thinking this is the same model as the medion akoya that was hot here a while back? as i have one of those and im having big issues with medion over the keyboard, they just dont want to replace it nor send me one to do it myself, they keep telling me they sent it and it never arrives.

Would hanspree be just as hard to deal with for after service? Im now looking preferably to upgrade but this time want good customer services if something goes wrong.

look on you tube loads of demos of msi wind (this is clone) playing you tube iplayer and even some games? whould think will be as good as any other netbook running XP as there nearly all the same spec ie cpu mem and graphics

You should really keep some of the above between you and your ISP!

this notebook looks extremely stylish and compact which is what i want.

weve had a lott of acer notebooks some in the ranges of 150-200. how do they compare? just in general useability and boundaries on what you can do with it.

otherwise the pearl white looks v nice, wish i had some cash lying around.
#29
is ths 6 cell?
#30
Hell this is hot,
I have this and its a great little netbook. Its basically an MSI wind 6 cell, although it seems a bit heavy on the juice so prob more of a 5 cell if you know what I mean.
I saw a comment about connecting to WIFI and can understand their issue but it was not hard to sort out, from memory it was a case of plugging it in to the router and doing an update from the Hanns webpage then all ok.
For the price you will struggle to beat it.

Or just do it over his network, like he said:whistling:

i think netbooks are just for surfing, word processing...not watching vids ; )
i would change my mind if they start confirming compatibility with a little 'youtube' sticker !!!
#33
Using mine now, regularly watch TVCatchup on it
#34
good deal but also the asus seashell £199 at play.com or lenovo ideapad for £194.89 at it247.com
#35
They both have 3 cell battery though.

yes could have sticker for every thing its compatible with ( may be a lot of stickers:w00t: )Seriously though cant see it would have any problems with you tube. Down load speed only thing seems to cause problems on you tube had vids running ok on really old PCs
#37
no problems at all watching youtube vids or tvcatch up, cant see why people would think these netbooks arnt capable
