Seen small ad in the Sun on friday about this - looks like its going to be a good deal - the £19.50 included ferry from dover to calais although I think the offer is not on july or august so not so good for folks with school kids.
#2
They did a starter voucher in The Sun on Saturday if anyone has that paper still lying around & want to do this offer you will be able to get your holiday request in a day sooner :)

I am voting this freezing cold. Imagine paying to go on holiday to a resort full of sun readers.

I've never read The Sun, I would imagine most people who collect the vouchers are not interested in the paper either.........simply the holiday.

On here perhaps, but the vast majority would be regular or regular-to-be Sun readers. After all, they wouldn't be stupid enough to put on a promotion that didn't bring them any benefits, would they?

I doubt that, the Sun has a gi-huge circulation already that would be interested, plus would-be readers that would be attracted by offer. The voucher hunters from hotukdeals.com looking for a cheap holiday would make up a very small proportion.

Which means that when you showed up at the resort, there would be 99 guests bedecked in union jack shorts, tattoos and scars (the men are just as bad) and 1 guest from hotukdeals.com (probably just back from the Italian version of Lidls with a years supply of washing powder).

I have booked and went to two Haven holidays through the Sun. I neither own union jack shorts, have scars or tattoos. Yes Centre Parcs is much, much nicer but never in a million years will you get a weekend there for £38 (£9.50 each for uk hols offer). A holiday is what you make it - I have two young kids who are quite happy playing in a park, swimming or dancing along with some person dressed as a bear.

The European hols include a number of fab parks, includng Duinrell in Holland where you can expect to pay around £700 for a week in school hols. The only problem with this deal is that even if you live in Dover a lot of these parks are too far to drive from Calais for a short break.

PS Anyone else think snobbery isn't big or clever?

But you read hotukdeals - and that's rather the point that was being made.

I have to agree with you lynnexxo, we've taken the children abroad on many nice holidays and go to Centerparcs every year, but it's Rory the Tiger they ask if we'll be seeing again . Though it can be traumatic, waiting in the Fish & Chip queue next to a 70 year old grannie with a top knot pony tail and "Juicy" written on her pink jogging bottoms across her backside, ask my husband!!!!!!:giggle:
PS. I do have a scar ...I fell into a wall when I was 4.

not at all! we're all booked up for Yarmouth again...bring it on!

I actually bought the Sun this morning! Unfortunately the only ferry crossing offered is Dover to Calais and you can't stay on the continent for longer than your 3 or 4 night holiday. The Sun also tels you the distance to the park from Calais. As far as I can tell the nearest are:

Domane du Chateau de Drancourt (70 miles approx 2hrs)
Domaine de Litteau (204 miles approx 4 hrs)
La Cote de Nacre (225 miles approx 3.30 hrs)
Duinrell (220 miles approx 3.30 hrs)
Beekse Bergen (175 approx 3 hrs)

Or you could always go for a 3 day break in Villaggio Baia Dominza in Lazio which is 1135 miles from Calais and will only take 17hrs 35 min t get there! Or one in portgual which is only a 1411 mile drive each way from Calais and will only take 23hrs 30 mins (maybe longer if you have a comfort break!)

On the holiday booking form that was in the the Sun yesterday it says that you can choose to travel on Sunday for Monday to Friday holidays, so this helps a bit with travelling times:thumbsup:

I'm using it, i'm taking my family to Northern Spain. I'm going to book some flights and we will hire a car at the airport, I'm looking forward to the adventure and a different way to try something new. I read the Sun, and I can assure you I wear my clothes labels on the inside of my clothes......I also have the wonderful quality of not judging others...especially on something so trivial as the paper they choose to read!!
