Looks good.. would like to know if you could attach a HDD but then again I doubt anyone knows?
#2
It says that you can attach USB storage to record so i am sure it will allow external USB Hard drive
#3
Samsung panel and 4gb stick included.... this looks good to me

Nice one OP, have some heat

Good idea and good deal, only problem is courrent cost of USB sticks eg included 4gb = 2 hours you'll want 8/16 hours min so if you can only add USB "stick" will be a little ££ at the moment

Also anyone got one already - is the stick visable ie does it got in a slot at the back etc?

Think you might have to format it to fat16 or 32

I have the identical Technika version.

Here's a pic from the back. You can't see the USB stick from the front.

nice find, may well get one

With these, can you record from any input connection? (I assume so.)
#9
Any idea what files this can playback? Avi, divx? Was looking at the lg with USB port but this one was 50 quid cheaper...
#10
can you watch the recorded video on a pc/mac, say using VLC?

sounds like the ones they do at Tesco. I was tempted to get one, but I believe they produced 2 "batches" of them, the first ones were problematic.
Tescos do the 22 inch version for £199.99 as far as I know, not sure of the 19 inch ones.
Anyone who have these, would you recommend ?
Do they have a proper "off" switch ? (this is a "feature" on the 22 inch one)
Do you know if you could use an archos (in my case an av700, which plays .ts video files) directly ?...ie instead of the usb stick, and then playback video straight away ???
WHats Aldi returns policy like?...I know my Tescos have had a few "returns" tellys that they sell on at a further discount, presumably customers not happy enough with them

If the answers to the above are positive, then a very good deal

IF it's the same board as on my Technika, then you can play its recording with VLC on your pc. You can also plug a stick into the TV and it'll analyse the structures of the files and offer a kind of playlist (mp3, avi etc) from which you can select.

That's where mine was from (£199.97) 3 months ago. Has a proper on/off switch and no problems thus far

I have the Tesco 22" Technika one. Got it for £200. I`m sure the 19" was about £150 but could be wrong.

I have stuck my 16gig usb stick in it and records a good few hours worth. So looking at around £17 for a 16gig on top of buying this i`d say.

I`m sure you can`t plug an external HDD into the Tesco ones but can`t answer about this one. I`d be surprised thought if you could. The Tesco ones come with a free 4gig stick in the although I`m sure the box doesnt mention this.

At £139.99 I`d say it was worth at try. HOT.

Excellent deal, i really want one of these but its not big enough. I need at least 22 inch, does anyone know if they do these in 22 inch anywhere else? Best price? Thanks.

I have bought the wife one of Tesco's 19" ones for her birthday [which is not until Saturday] a couple of weeks ago, so can't fiddle now as it's been 'put away' until then.

This deal with Aldi is excellent! I paid £160 for the Tesco one with only a 1 year warranty [No Aldi over here in NI anyway]

Freeview quality was decent enough I thought, with a decent viewing angle, though note that Tesco is 1366 X 768 so must use a different [Samsung] panel. Tried DVD playback with a decent Pioneer deck and it was excellent! Sound quality is so so at this size set of course.

One thing I do recall about about my downloaded files, was that of course there would be no sound for those which had either AC3 [DD] or DTS audio.

H&R for what looks like an excellent deal

Someone mentioned about a 22" version. Just to add that I bought a full HD 1080p 23" UMC model with incorporated DVD player from Makro beforehand [was on 'special offer' at £140 plus VAT] but the PQ was absolutely dire! DVD playback was unbelieveably bad and viewing angle rubbish - off axis at all and the screen showed as 'black'! All I would say is don't be swayed by a 1080p resolution like I was. You don't need it! 720p is fine with this size screen.

nice find especially with the warranty

I've just bought the 22" Technika Tesco job for £160 for son's bedroom - no aerial, it's just for watching DVDs, so the USB bit's not really of relevance.

Do you guys think I'd be better off with this smaller one for £20 less to get the 3 yr warranty, or do you reckon that the Tesco ones are fairly reliable?

Can`t really answer your question mate, but do want to know how you got the 22" from Tesco for £160.?
#21
Nice Deal, anyone know if this one's wall mountable?
#22
Anyone know if you can playback on the TV using the memory stick? i.e. If I placed a film on the pen stick and then popped into USB on the TV, would it play it back?

I was in Tesco's today and checked out the TV's. they have an offer on. Firstly the Technika 26" USB record is £299.99 but the offer for the Technikca 32" USB Record is also £299.99. Dont how long the offer is on for so if you want one, chop chop.

do u think this would be ok for my pc and xbox

Well that's what i'm hoping to purchase one for for my son's bedroom! PC via VGA, 360 via HDMI. The recording feature will be a bonus & sky in via scart. This being a samsung panel is a real bargain along with the 3 year warranty

Please let me know if i can record my ps3 and PC not just freeview as i want to get it friday but if i cant record from my ps3 or PC to the usb drive i might not get it..... PLEASE SOME LET ME KNOW!
#26
Don't know for sure, but other similar models I've seen will only record the digital tv, so you wouldn't be able to record your PS3 output.
#27
Really interested in this TV, does anyone know if I would be able to record to USB stick and then view on my netbook?
#28
Would think that it would dump the stream to the stick rather than have an encoder to enable records other sources. Same as the diference between a DVD recorder and a PVR.
#29
Off track question but...

If you search for Aldi in the hotdeal search this item does not come up, I am sure I have missed things in the past due to this, I also see more email than items when simply searching for Aldi.

H+R added my well get one, was just about to post the deal too!

Anyone know if this can be wall mounted?
#31
My local Aldi in bamber bridge had 10 tellys. I was the first of 5 people to get one when it opened and for the first time I have managed to get something from Aldi or Lidl

I have just looked at the instructions and it describes how you can mount it on a wall. I haven't looked at the detail as I only want it on a stand.

Gutted. Got my dad to go down to get one of these today. He has got one but i thought it came with a dvd player built in. It doesn't so will be going back. Don't see what makes this a hot deal. You can get a 19" one from tesco with dvd and pvr for £180
#34
Grabbed the last one in my local today. It's very impressive all round. Buy of the week for me.
#35
Picked up mine this morning. Plenty in store in Ilford. so far it is very impressive. Good picture quality even though I'm feeding this from coax from Virgin V+ box. Wouldn't mind another.

This one also has a PVR so with the Tesco one you are paying £40 extra for a DVD player. How much does a DVD player cost?

That's because of plonkers who don't add tags when they post a deal. :whistling:

Got mine yesterday, excellent set ,

No chance of getting one of these, so trawled Fleabay and found this :-

http://*********.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330370796919&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

22" screen instead of 19", but similar apart from that, comes to £151.98 inc delivery. From Argos Clearance as a brand new item, not a refurb, so should be ok. I've ordered one, so we'll see....

P.S. The same set is still being sold in their high street stores for £179.99. One-nil to Fleabay :-)
#40
Ah, of course, we can't post links to Fleabay.....

Search for Bush S322, there's only 2 sellers that'll come up, one is clearance bargains.
