Bellow taken from website

Need a compact TV from a brand you can trust? Then look no further than the LG M198wa.

With its 19" wide monitor and HD Ready resolution, this analogue 19" LG LCD TV is ideal for the bedroom, office or as a students TV/monitor. The 19" screen is perfect for near-field viewing and, thanks to a superb specification, is easily up to close scrutiny. A response time of just 5ms makes for super-clean motion and clear images. The contrast ratio of 3000:1 is excellent for a TV of this size and helps give the M198ma superb levels of realism. Even the viewing angle is better than average, meaning that even if you're unable to sit square on to the LG TV, you'll enjoy excellent screen definition.

Making the M198wa yet more appealing is the wide range of inputs. A DVI socket is perfect for an HD source such as X-box or HDTV device. For conventional sources there are component, SCART and S-video inputs. If you're pushed for space then why not use the LG as a 19" monitor, too? With a choice of VGA or DVI, any computer can be connected with sockets to spare.

Coming complete with a tilt and swivel base, the M198wa is easy to place or, if you prefer, the standard VESA 100 mount makes wall mounting an easy option.

For the perfect 19" TV your search ends here.

They are quite well known, have brought from them before and been good. Still it a good price for known brand and will do for small TV I guess....wrt the freeview added features etc I guess the other option is good. I hope it helps some people though

Great price for the brand, and with their 5yr warranty option even better (many reviews about, far more reasonable than almost every other retailers rip off cover). As regards having never heard of them
"HOW BIG ARE WE?

Richer Sounds trades from 47 stores in 39 towns/ cities. Although we have relatively few outlets we are the UK’s biggest hi-fi and home cinema retailer and are proud of our quite incredible turnover, which is of course, thanks to you. According to the Guinness Book of Records (last 15 years) we have the highest sales per sq. ft of any retailer in the world"

Not bad! I've bought from them many times, although I won't on this one, quite happy to again in the future. Sadly though this no longer available online, only instore.

As I said for a basic 19" LCD TV from a known and good brand I do think this is a good price. Hope it is for some of you to. Angelsummy thanks for the rep have some back hopefully you get your TV even if its through info through this post

I have purchased one of these from ebuyer. The TV is a bargain for the money.HD makes no difference on this size screen, besides its got dvi, which will hook up to a xbox/ps3.If you really need freeview, go buy a box for around £15..................I have no need for it.. Only downside to the tv , ebuyer had a 3 year warranty on these.

Richer Sounds has been around for years, they were virtually the only cheap electrical/gadget retailer around before internet shopping went mainstream and the other big high st retailers were forced into competing with better prices.

I dont know this tv, but from my own experience of small LG's s the sound quality will be pretty poor.

Also, the downside to this deal is DVI not HDMI, so you'll need an adaptor to use 90% of HD ready stuff (unless you use the 5 cables of a componenet connection) and no freeview so no good after next year or so - yes you can add a freeview box, but then thats more cables, more remotes and straight away you've lost the convenience of the a small flat panel telly.

Voted cold

good make and performance, i had my doubts about no digital tuner but as someone pointed out, there's lots of people out there with cable service - and sat for that matter.
so a great find - heat and rep added. Thanks for the post!!

Is this from the VIP email? I saw one pop up in my inbox yesterday and get instantly deleted by an overzealous spam filter. If anyone has one would appreciate them forwarding it as there are usually some good deals in it.

Sorry, but how can you say its no good, after next year. With the amount sky/ cable boxes, a lot of people dont even use the freeview.......................In fact I notice a lot of people will need a better tv reception to even use freeview.

There are about 26 million house holds in the UK, Sky have 9 million subscribers, Virgin Media have 3.5 million, that leaves 13.5 million people (a big majority) who will HAVE to use freeview in the next few years. Transmissions on the analogue system are stopping now and once they do the freeview signal will be boosted so alot more people who cant use Freeview or dont want to pay for their tv any longer will get more options.

Then even if you do have a subscription service, you'll have to go 'multiroom' if you want to this telly as more than just a slave monitor to the main set. OK this might be fine for any people but the point remains, that for an extra £20-30 you can get a tv set that will actually be useful now rather than a set that's cheaper, but will cost £20-30 to get it running after the switchover.

Imho, its a false economy.

ever wondered why the item is only available from stores?

It is often because they have 3 left between their 34 stores and simply want you in there to buy something else.

This maybe true...or if you had noticed this was posted weeks ago...it was available for delivery and was cheaper at 119 so they probably sold so many now it is only available for collection as they only have 3 left:whistling: though who knows...its a deal...not a question of richersounds integrity lol
