Tesco have increased their 0% purchase card to 19 months, which is the highest in the market.

You also earn Clubcard points on any purchases made on the card:

Tesco stores - 5 Clubcard points for every £4 you spend.
Tesco fuel - 5 Clubcard points for every £4 you spend (excludes Esso Fuel).
Everywhere else - 1 Clubcard point for every £4 you spend.

Handy if you want to make a large purchase and want to pay it back over a period of less than 19 months, and is in effect a 0% loan.

Looks like a deal - but please be aware Tesco Bank very difficult to contact and when I got one of these cards last year it was three months before they sorted out the DD payment and because of their incompetence it very nearly damaged my credit worthiness.

I believe they may now have changed the bank that administers the CC but if not - tread with care

I have the email addresses of various Tesco directors if of course they are still directors

Pipcola is was RBS who administered this as a joint venture up until 2012, any issues last year were solely Tesco Bank I reckon, I got my card through no probs last year though.

They used to do a refer a friend deal so both you and a friend got 1000 ponts as well, not sure if they still do but it will be listed somewhere.....

Got mine with 18 months few weeks ago, cannot complain so far, also a basic android app is available to check transactions and statements. Have to setup DD so cannot comment on that

Does anyone know how does the 18 month 0% APR work. e.g. if I buy something from Currys using this card and the transaction shows up, I can pay it in monthly installments without getting any interest? or does it only work on Tesco purchases?
#7
I've got a Vanquis card with a three k limit.capital one with three k and a flybe with 2300 limit.would I stand a chance with this ?and I'm self employed

I've had one of these in the past , used it anywhere and everywhere and had no problems so you will be able to use in Curry's , wish I could get this again , never had a problem with payments , I thought it was very good, happy spending

Do you have a debt on these? If so the question you should be asking yourself first is do I need more temptation?

The only downside of the Tesco 0% card is they tend to be a bit stingey with the credit limit. I guess because they don't want you spending too much at 0%.
I've had several of these (just cancel after the 0%) and then take another 6 months later. Well worth using with all those clubcard points.

good deal, has been there for a while but i believe it was 0% for 18 months on purchases. Would definitely recommend it and I still have & use it since I got the card good 4 years ago

Voted Hot.

Get a friend who already has one to refer you and you get a bonus 1000 points!

I've referred a couple friends already.
Great little bonus over the life of the card ;)

Does it apply to balance transfer too? If yes, on what percentage or fee?

Thank you Jimmyboy. Is this applicable for students or part time job holders?
#28
Remember the interest free period only applies if you pay the minimum repayment each month.

I've had one for years, never managed to get the DD payment set up so I just pay it manually each month, although not tried for a couple of years. My OH has one and had no problems setting up DD

On the 0% I've never had more than a couple of thousand limit. One poster earlier in this thread said they got £10k or something which seems extra generous of them. Nothing wrong with my credit history I just don't think they like giving away too much on 0% (from my experience anyway).
