Falken's aren't budget tyres like the tat you get very cheap, they're pretty good (I think made my Michelin?). I have the 452s on my motor and they're great.

Decent tyres at a good price. Camskill has some cracking prices if you can get somewhere near you to fit for you.
#3
I use camskill all the time they are spot on
#4
Good price, but a bit of a weird dimension. 16" low profile (40) tyres would normally be a wider, no, more like 215 or 225?

For which car would they be?

wish i could get tyres that cheap for my car!

ive tried loads of makes of tyres and imo michelins are the best but well expensive (my peugeot 307xsi are £175 @ costco to £240!), continental sp3 are also good esp in the wet

not impressed with pirelli p6000's

the only cheaper tyres worth bothering with are hankook's - superb tyres esp for the money (paid £82inc for my pug) or avon zv5 (avoid the zv3's though)
as for cheap tyres avoid barum unless you enjoy offroading in the wet

Falken aren't budget anymore... they make some good tyres

It the chinese **** like linglong you have to avoid - its as good as driving without a seatbelt

or barum which are so bad that you are probably better off with illegal michelins..lol

Yup Falken are pretty useful tyres...this is a great price!

I stuck these on all 4 corners, they replaced a worn set of Continental SportContact3 albeit in a different size (225/45/17). To say I am impressed is an understatement! I would say they match the contis for grip both dry and wet and offer improved comfort. Too early to tell when it comes to wear but the speed at which the contis disappeared they don't have much to beat!

I also got mine from Camskill who were first class, cheapest around at the time by some way and with me the next day :)

Strange you should say that about Barum; I was about to recommend them.

So it's your personal opinion vs mine + AutoExpress, which properly tested a whole range of tyres and found that the Barums performed almost as well as the premium brands. They are Continentals by the way.

This is a very good deal for that size. Tyre Shopper offers some great prices (fitted, via Nationwide) and their cheapest is £75. Worth checking their site for other sizes/makes though and the service is excellent:

Looks like Barums for yours are £83:

I agree, I have been using Barum Bravuris (MK1) tyres for over a year now and have been very impressed.
Last week I stopped in the snow on a hill behind two cars at some traffic lights. After much skidding, the two cars in front had to turn around and head back down the hill. I set off without any wheel spin and made it through the lights. Looking in the rear view mirror I could see that the car behind me was still where I left it. And no I don’t have a 4x4, it’s a front wheel drive. I know which tyres I’ll be buying next, especially when mine were £50 each (205/55).

Hi

For info Falken are made by Dunlop in Japan (I used to work for them) Good tyres with good performance

i had falken 452's on my astra diesel and probo the worst tyres i've ever had

just putting some goodyear eagle f1's on and so worth the money

The problem with tyres they might be crap on one car but brilliant on another it really is trial and error with them and if you alter your cars setup ie lower suspension, camber/castor settings, tracking, wider wheels or bigger wheels they all have an effect.

Even if you stick with what the manufacture spec is from new after so many thousands of miles bushes, shocks they all start to wear and the car will never feel like it was when it was new.

Not voted either way as never used falken on any of my cars it all comes down to what you are willing to pay and just because someone says they are crap on their car might not be on someone else's :).

I need new front tyres for my 600cc City Coupe 2002 Smart car. Does anyone know if 195/40R16 80V XLTL FALKEN ZE912 tyres be suitable for everyday use? I drive approx 20 miles to and from work daily.
