If you have never been on a plane, how do you know you are afraid of flying?

Sunwing Airlines will be leasing two Boeing 767-300ER aircraft from Euro Atlantic Airways for this route and other European destinations this summer. The seat configuration on these aircraft will be 2-3-2.

The cabin (picture attached) looks somewhat dated and will not have seat back TV's. The aircraft are equipped with overhead TVs showing in-flight movies and headsets are distributed for free. The seat pitch is also fairly tight at 30". That's something worth considering for a flight of 7h 45mins, especially if you're big and tall.

However, for the price you're paying, it's a bargain.

A major airline review site called Skytrax rates Sunwing as 5 out of 10. The big issue seems to be with punctuality and the airline sticking to it's schedules.

Wow. That's a shame. Have you considered seeing a therapist? It would be a shame to never conquer your fears. Does it stem from any bad experiences, or is it just the logic of flying that you find hard to grasp (or something else entirely)?

Any ideas for hotels? How quickly can you get a child's passport?

£377 for the three of us is crazy cheap

You can also get fast-track passports IIRC.

This offer isn't for me because of the timing of it, but Toronto is one of the best places I've ever visited. A bargain, without a doubt - assuming the airline is ok!

For anyone looking at hotels, I'd recommend staying a bit out of downtown, and looking along Queen St West instead. It's a very cool area, with loads of bars, restaurants and other interesting stuff. It looks a little way out on the map but actually it's only a short streetcar ride from the city centre.

No, the real big issue is to ask just who is doing maintenance on these aircraft and are they fit to do so.

Maintenance is just about the first thing which goes out of the window.

Then you have to ask yourself just how they are going to deal with any repair or delay issues when they only have 2 planes and no money in the kitty to rent another one should the one you want have a flat tyre.

You could be lucky but you could also be stuck in Canada for a loooooong time until they fix it.

I'd avoid unless on my gap year with nothing to come back for.

I'm not afraid of flying and this might sound abit weird but I have a slight phobia of ever crossing the Atlantic on a plane in case it had to make an emergency landing for whatever reason. Crossing land just makes you feel that bit more secure.

Don't BA or Virgin offer a price match guarantee ?? :p
#31
jsut booked for a weekend break - cheers op!
#32
Thanks for the responses about flying. It's the feeling trapped and not being able to get off, not that you'd want to 5 miles up in the air of course lol. I'm one of those people that is afraid of loads of things, just how I was made lol, so many things in life can be more of a problem to me than they need to be. This is an awesome price.

This is outstanding - I've flown with AirTransat 3 times as they are the next best budget airline to CA since Zoom from Cardiff went bust and even they were nearly at the £400 mark last time. To be honest 7-8 hours on a plane isn't really that bad as by the time you chuck in a couple of movies, a bit of a nap, meal time and a flick through the airline mag you're pretty much there.

CA is really fantastic - the people are very pleasant generally and it's climate is comfortably hot in summer. So much wilderness and wildlife to explore and Toronto city is clean, modern and easy to get around. Even if you go for a long weekend at this price it's worth it! Mega heat!
#34
Jeez, this is roasting hot!!
Make sure that you go beyond the initial search results and enter passengers ages as the price quoted first isn't always the same as the confirmed price.
I just checked a one way on 23rd June, initial price was £32 inc taxes, I entered age and confirmed price and came out at £73.

Great deal, think I`ll book a flight and go watch a ice hockey match and take in the after game rioting too :p
#36
I've bought this... Hope to god I'm not being ripped off as it is amazingly cheap (paid £188 each). Was originally looking for flights to Detroit, the cheapest ones I could find were £592!
#37
Spot on! Just booked, at that price it's worth booking for anyone that want to go anywhere relatively close to Toronto that's not on the regular tourist destination list! I needed a flight to Alabama to see my sister and the cheapest around seemed to still be over £550. This way I've managed to book an internal flight for an additional £150 and I'll get 3 days in total in Toronto. Many thanks Frenchdevil10!

Went there last october for £269 return flights

Accomadation in toronto can be expensive. However, I would recommend hiring a car and taking a 2 hour drive to NIAGRA FALLS! I am suprised no one mentioned that yet! Best stay the canadian side - more to do. Also you can drive over to the american side and go to shopping outlets - much cheaper than canada. Make sure you take all labels off clothing and pack in suitcase as canada tries to tax people coming across. Niagra on the lake is worth a visit - lots of wineries. Also get the ferry across to toronto island - lots of nice beaches. there is a brewery quite central aswell called whistle brewrey that gives away free beer!. If your really struggling most of the sugar imports for canada come into toronto and the manufacturer has a museum you can go around.

Plane sounds a bit dated, but this is a Fantastic deal, Toronto is a great city.

The Trans Canada Highway will get you there in just over 2 days! Remember to include the journey back when planning your itinerary and flight back. As for seeing Stanley Cup hockey in Toronto... you should be so lucky!

Niagra as previously mentioned is lovely, if you're hoping to go across the border though, you'll probably need an ESTA or whatever it's called, best to plan ahead!
