HEAT!, This is a super deal, Just cancelled my 4870 for this. I also signed up with avforums ages ago. I did not even know. And I am eligible for free delivery Yepppie
#3
how better is this over the 4870
#4
about 10-15% i think, still if you are getting a card now this is best bang for buck. If you already have one, just keep it. unless you can get the money back somehow OR if you rich.
#5
very good deal, good job on the find. voted hot. prices are coming down fast due to new dx11 cards being released soon

You've two options:

1. Put it on the old credit card & pay it off before the interest kicks in, which is usually at least 2 weeks to a month

2. Wait for the deal to return, which might be very soon

Excellent deal btw, & voted hot from me!

Cant you order now, The status will just stay at invoiced and wait until you got money in the account. unless you have a credit card. I think with that you will be charged interest or something.

This is a amazing deal, these cards are amazing they overclock to about 1ghz core and 4800mhz memory with the right voltage mod and better cooling and even at stock it can run every game maxed out at a decent resolution, for example it will quite happily do crysis warhead on maxium settings with 8x AA on 1440x900, so yeah brilliant card and a fantastic price however, the sudden drop in prices does lead me to believe direct x11 cards are just around the corner and if the performance boost we saw from the change between direct x9 and 10 is anything to go by i think the next generation cards are gonna blow this away, so if you can hold out do so.

At that res it will run any game as would a 4870 or even a 4850 bump that to 1920x1080 and up and it wont run with full AA that is a very low res now what do you have an old 17inch lcd. I'm sticking with my 4850 till Xmas as this card is cheap as someone has mentioned because DX11 is due with the release of windows7 due in October we should see the first gen DX11 cards within the next 8 weeks which will do to this what DX10 did to the ATI xx1950xx and the Nvidia 7series.

Its a fast card at the minute but was only released as a revision of the 4870 as a gap filler till the DX11 cards come which should be all new i would wait with the economy as it is you will get a card as fast in the DX11 format for the same or less or in a weeks time this will come in at the £100 price bracket.

The Nvidia GT300 will replace the 200's and the ATI 5xxx series will replace this and will all make the jump to the 40nm process which should drop the massive temps of the 4xxx series and there **** poor coolers.

Excellent deal.

Really good video review here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsqTFHekK3Q

Does this deal finish in 30mins ???

Either ways its a great card and you should buy it. If you can afford a dx11 card then buy one of those although dx11 games will not even come out until later next year. Heck there is not even alot of dx10 games. The new cards will be crazy expensive. It would be better to get this card now and let the prices of the new cards cool down and let games get devoloped for the tech. Then It will be nice to do an upgrape. No doubt this card will last for atleast 2years. Until you would need an upgrade.
#19
should run out dinner time tomorrow ish
#20
Scan will change the today only page tomorrow about noon so yea it does expire.
#21
great deal, though i'm waiting for a midrange, energy efficient dx11 card.
#22

Wasn't the 4870X2 future proof at the time? :p

The future has a funny habit of just popping up and changing the rules doesn't it :)

i dont know much about building computers but will i need a good psu to run this?
i got a dell (core i7 3gb ram and a low range ati 3870 256mb), so i would imagine that my current psu will be too low powered to run this or any of the dx11 cards

have a look what your psu rating is, how many watts? if it has a core i7 i would say its quite high.

Good choice, a pair of these can beat GTX285 SLI. In the charts below, red and purple bars are 1920 and 2560 resolutions...

You'd need about 550W or more.

I think this just expired. No longer on today only page... I added it to my basket at correct price 10 min ago and went off to check some quick reviews, but it's now in the basket at £11,498.85 (inc vat) which doesnt seem like quite a good deal. May have to go for just 1 instead of crossfire... lol

DAMN! Missed out on another good deal... Been thinking of replacing my 8800GT for a few weeks now.

£130 xfx one at ebuyer with free super saver delivery. scan has a £131 xfx one as well it seems.

I remember when OcUK were doing an XFX 4890 XT for £140 - that was about 3-4 weeks ago and was an absolute steal! I reckon this will have been the best priced 4890 until about the end of August, and even then I reckon standard price will only have dropped about a fiver.

Getting this tomorrow CANT WAIT :) Superb deal.
