Can anyone tell me if this would be suitable for transferring files from a laptop to a pc and vice versa? Hubby bought new laptop and was trying to transfer with dvd-rw, but seemed like a bit of a hassle. Would this do the trick? Could he also take it to work to print a word document for example?
#7
might be worth getting a bigger size, depending on how much stuff your moving back and forth from pc to lappy, this will work on any pc and laptop, and again yes he can take it to work to print out documents.

Good deal. Voted Hot and Rep added!

Lesley; Yep, I reckon these would do the job perfectly. Provided both PC's have a USB slot (and it would be very rare to find PC's without them now), and the amount of data being transferred isn't huge (most day to day files, like documents, pictures and such like would be no problem at all) then they should be perfect for the job!

I have a lower capacity version of this brand of stick and they are pretty well made. Provided they haven't changed anything, the silver bit is metal and the black rubberised bit of the stick swivels round inside it to protect it and make it nice and compact. I like them. In fact, I might buy a couple more. You can never have enough of these things floating around in my opinion!

Cheers

They will take a percentage from the retailer - just as your credit card company would.

Says £3.99 but it's £4 when you add it to the basket, weird :p

Had an email from them this morning promoting this, I've used this company quite a lot.

The philips SPC500NC (http://bigmaggot.co.uk/Philips-Super-VGA-Webcam-Model-SPC500NC-pr-3925.html) seems good at a look, but is available on amazon for £11:

Otherwise, have a look at the others on amazon, as there is much more choice!

Yes.

Opened it up and improved the contacts. It worked briefly but then failed.

Now it is in the bin.
