1KG ASDA Ketchup £1 @ ASDA Instore £1.00

benlewis95benlewis95

Sorry if this is already posted, but i've done a search and couldn't find it. This is ASDA's own Tomato Ketchup (1KG) for £1. I think this is pretty cheap, and this was in the Swindon store.

    Have YOU tasted it ?

Your post infers that you haven't.

My post doesn't 'infer' that at all. You have clearly 'inferred' that. My post suggests that 'this will taste like...' regardless of whether I have tasted it or not. And yes, it DOES taste cheap.

Bought this recently when it was on offer at this price and it tastes fine. Asda's own brand brown sauce however is vile!

Hehe.. can't believe people can be snobs about tomato sauce :)
This tastes fine to me.. better than the 22p one I usually get!

Do you think that was a constructive post? If you had actually tasted it you would have used a more descriptive statement than "it tastes cheap". What does 'cheap' taste like? If you've got nothing worthwhile to say, don't bother saying anything.

Moving on. We've bought this this instead of the Heinz stuff for a few years now and it's considerably cheaper and it tastes great - just like ketchup would you believe.

That's not what he said at all, he didn't mention it tasting cheap. If you can't be constructive or at least read the post you are quoting then don't bother... He is right this does taste of vinegar more than say heinz, because that's exactly what they use to dilute it to keep costs down.

Personally I don't mind it but i'm not that fussy... i tried the topping up the heinz bottle trick and got caught out because it is that noticeable. Good price, but if you have fussy people you'd be better avoiding it. Hot from me.

I like how you edited your post to add something constructive, too little too late.

I bought this when it was on offer at £1 last time. It actually does not taste that bad. Voted hot

"Might as well buy some vinegar instead 'cos thats what this will taste like." - That's not constructive, had he have said WHY than just make what appears as a flippant remark then of course people are going to pull him up on it.

All I edited to my comment was "- just like ketchup would you believe" not sure how that changes the overall statement I made.

Edit: He said "Cheap for a reason." Followed by "Might as well buy some vinegar instead 'cos thats what this will taste like." Without sugegsting he's just written a legal document the implication is that it is cheap because of vinegar.

    People arguing about £1 ketchup.

    Anyway good price, heat!

A bottle of ketchup easily lasts for a couple of months for me. The difference between this and branded stuff is usually a quid. Over that long a period I don't think the small price difference makes much of a difference, so go Heinz.
This deal is worth getting if you own a burger joint :p

Tried this but wasnt keen on it. Noticed the bottle is the same as Branston, just a different size, so guessing they make it but different recipe.
