Older rice is better in taste
farmers keep it for at least a year before using it
Strange Why there is BB date

I tend to think the same for some cheezes. Supermarket Brie or Camembert tastes nothing. Leave it until past the BBE date and it becomes much nicer. :)

If you love being sick of food poisoning knock yourself out.

Anyway Older rice tastes better as there is sugar being formed... blah blah blah

Really? Some of the best rice I've ever tasted was just a few weeks' old (harvested by the missus' parents in Borneo). Mind it was cooked with coconut milk inside bamboo over an open fire...

It depends on the type of rice, not all rice is the same.

I go to my local Bangladeshi community and buy rice from there.
I get a really big sack of the stuff for about a tenner and there is loads in there.
It's really worth going to these shops and checking stuff out. You get loads of bargains!

In our local Tesco express they had 1kg bags of Tilda brand Brown Basmati rice and the price was...

£5.39!

I know it's not quite the same thing but over a fiver for a bag of rice? C'mon! They are having a laugh, aren't they?? Does anyone seriously spend that much on rice??!
