I get a lot of fruit and veg from Lidl, but have always found the onions go soft and mouldy very quickly, and generally avoid them. Possibly they keep them in cold storage too long before getting them on the shelves.

Good price though.

Every time a Lidl or Aldi fruit and veg post and this gets a run out! :-(

I buy a LOT from both Lidl and Aldi and HAVE NOT found any problem whatsoever with ANY fruit and veg, maybe it is your local store.

I do however find problems with Sainsbury's fruit and veg, and again, I put THAT down to MY local store too, and on occasions my local Somerfield is clearly OVER-COOLING some products as they show signs of slight freezing fairly often, and decompose as a result!

Are you having a laugh?

Never had any issues whatsoever with Aldi fruit and veg. Last time this offer on onions ran I got 4 packs and they all kept for close to three weeks. Even the cucumbers seem to hold up better than the normal Asda comparators.

I've never read or posted on a Lidl fruit or veg post before, but going by what you have said, sounds like it is a common issue then!

Like I say, don't generally find a problem with most of their stuff, but with the onions I do.

Sorry if I had a bit of a hair-trigger... as I say, it is every time some offer from one of the discount supermarkets (Aldi/Netto/Lidl) is posted, the nay-sayers come out of the woodwork and I had presumed you were "having a go" rather like so many do when it realates to one of those stores! :whistling:

I agree, all of the fruit and veg goes off very quickly. It might not be the same in all stores but there have been enough people saying this to suggest that Lidl have a problem.

Rooster spuds are brilliant cut up and fried, maybe boil for 5 minutes first.
