This will be great for my girlfriend Hazel cos she's a useless cook and I'm always worried about her starting fires in the kitchen

Odd in deed. There were none in my local branch today that I saw. From the 22nd near me (Bedford).

Correct, but it can be used for oil and not cooking oil. Depends what kind of oil you mean..........

best advice is to not buy a fire extinguisher for the kitchen, if you have a fire in a chip pan then turn the power off to that ring, close the kitchen door and dial 999. Dont move the pan and DONT put water on it.

Small dry powder extinguishers will make a massive mess, sometimes more than the fire itself.
The other thing is, people buy these, stick them in the cupboard, and then find them 20 years later and expect them to work. They need to be checked once a year.

Ok for the car I suppose, the law in some countries but best avoided generally IMHO

The apparent duplication of products at different prices has already been mentioned: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/1kg-abc-powder-fire-extinguisher-6-/719684/#post9034576

Did no-one else see that earlier post?

The £4.99 extinguisher was n my local Lidl today. The dearer one (apparently the same) was in stock last week.
