Certainly true with a 1 kg extinguisher, it's false reassurance sadly.

Well most of the offers are regional, but this looks as though it might be clearance too, so it is definitely going to be hit and miss :-(
I was in the Coventry Brandon branch on Monday night, and saw none left over from the last time, so I wonder if they will have any from the new date?

these are smaller than the ones they had offer locally to me a few weeks ago, so a new offer I presume!

Bear in mind, if someone on here were foolish enough to offer advice on how to tackle a fire they'd be laying themselves (and Hotukdeals) open to prosecution should someone get injured using that advice..
Good price on a fire extinguisher though.

Not in my store.

Handy for the car though, or caravan, or the camping barbi.

good deal but warning to all buying this or any fire extinguisher in fact - in the shop hold it in your hand and turn the extinguisher upside down and the hold it upright again. Then check the guage and make sure the pressure is in the green.

If the pressure is in the red walk away, I have seen a lot of extinguishers in teh red in cheaper stores - you don't need to put 2 + 2 together to work out why you need to check the pressure. Again if there is no guage fitted put it down and buy one that has one.

Also advice for anyone who has an extinguisher, once a year perform the process of turning upside down and then upright and check the guage. This refreshes everything and also makes sure the pressure is right.

Good luck all ;)

Just to let people know, I bought one of these before and on New Years Eve had an incident where a pile of recycling/rubbish that I'd not gotten rid of went up in flames beside my house when I carelessly threw a used firework (in my defence which had been dormant for 5 mins).

Anyway, when someone noticed it, the flames were beside my deck and about 4' high. I grabbed the ABC extinguisher, pulled the tab, pointed at the fire, pulled the trigger and in a cloud of the most toxic horrible flames I've seen, every ember of fire was extinguished instantly.

The extinguisher only had enough puff for another couple of extremely short bursts (just to make sure), but it sure as hell did the job.

On the F.E. - good deal, if it is national, rubbish if it ain't....

Lidl deals are all national... but they have them on different dates for different areas - so if it isn't in you area now, you can be sure you have either missed it, or it will be coming up before very long, hence the benefit of people posting them on here so you don't miss them
