Don't think I have seen an HDMI cable cheaper anywhere else - correct me if I'm wrong though....

19-pin male-male for connection between two HDMI devices. Ideal for set-top boxes, DVD players and game consoles.

It's only a few pence more for gold plated 1.5M HDMI 1.3 cables.

If they charged £1000 for that very same Monster cable (which probably costs a couple of pounds to manufacture, if that) there'd still be people buying it and swearing it was worth the money.

Haha, these wires carry a digital signal (on or off). It either gets to the TV, or doesn't. There is no degrading of the signal. Therefore if you buy this Poundland one, it will do exactly the same job as the Monster cables. The gold doesn't even do anything when it comes to HDMI!

Trust me, I have a 42 inch LED hooked up to a Blu ray with one of these cables. It looks stunning.

this is true. if I hadn't of bought the 2 or 3 over the past year or so, I would've been better off buying the 1.5m (from Amazon?) as for me, the 1 metre fits just a little too snug

If you can afford to waste money on expensive cables which have been proven to be no better than cheapo cables..why are you looking for bargains on hotukdeals !!!

:p
#15
yep your just wasting money on more expensive cables
even a £10 cable is to much as it will be no better than this
but you just cant tell some, it cost more so it must be better people

Do you think perhaps given the context, that person *may just* have been being sarcastic about the 100 quid cable? Durr...

I'm not even convinced by the '1.4 essential for 3d' argument, I have a 99p eBay lead on my 3d tv and it works a treat!

= £1 hdmi + £49.99 bluray player + 3 blurays for £18 + meal for 2 from M&S £10 + 2 crates of beer for £16 and a £5 to send the kids to bed early.......:p "oh waht a night"
#22
Hot price for the length but I found that they are to short for HD/Blu Ray player to Plasma
connection. These are ideal though and better quality look/heavier cable than the cheapos
you get free with the player although they all give the same results.

Ever since I bought that £100 gold plated USB cable from Monster my printer has been churning out much better looking prints, far better than that 50p one from eBay.

So better quality cables do give a better picture and sound.

'In a dramatic departure from all previous HDMI cable designs, Platinum Starlight HDMI cable employs Wireworld’s new, patent-pending DNA Helix cable design, which has 24 conductors – double that of conventional HDMI cables – arranged in an innovative symmetrical geometry that reduces noise while providing a precisely balanced 100-ohm impedance at every point along the cable’s length. These advantages minimize the timing errors known as digital jitter and the resulting data corruption, to produce amazing improvements in sound and image quality.

Transmission speed is a dominant factor in HDMI cable performance. The transmission speed of a cable is directly related to its length and the higher speed of very short cables produces distinctly cleaner sound and sharper images. The DNA Helix HDMI cable design provides faster transmission than conventional HDMI cable designs, thus enabling standard lengths of Platinum Starlight to produce lifelike sound and imaging that other cables can only match if they are made extremely short.
