And then the only way you can get off file is to ring them up oO
Good deal, shame it's so hard to cancel afterwards

Agreed, absolute nightmare trying to cancel...not worth all the hassle IMO

Its not hard at all! go on xbox.com, and remove your credit card from the file there and then, done.

EDIT: In fact I just checked how many clicks it takes to remove credit cards and the thing that most people complain about takes a grand total of 5 clicks!

Sign in, my account, manage payment options, remove, confirm.

Sorry, Gravityjay, but that's not always the case. The system refused to remove my cc details when I did what you describe. I was also unable to remove the card details by logging in to xbox live from a normal computer. There's even a dedicated message of explanation (something to do with it being a special offer).

But, to the other detractors, it wasn't much of a problem to phone and get the details removed, just a 10 minute inconvenience.

Best wishes, Neil

bloody hard though - a couple years back i phoned to cancell Xbox live as i was going abroard for a fw months
and they only cancelled the following month not the month i phoned.

presently - only buy pre-paid cards now,

I like the xbox and live and incidentally WinXP and Win7
but to be honest having huge misgivings about giving any more money to MS
They beginning to finally annoy the bergeebers out of me
esp Bill **** Gates and his genocidal wish to reduce population with viruses in mosquitos no less...
Very very odd!

That didnt work for me however many clicks I tried, I had to call them in the end

I know I shouldn't bite, but ok I will, what is this rant about genocide?
Bill Gates started his foundation, and has convinced many other wealthy people to put most of their money into the foundation to tackle world health issues. Probably more effective than any government, and certainly more than any corporation. Get all "techie angry" about Windows and Microsoft if you like, that's immature but kinda fair game, but surely Bill deserves our love right now if he uses his personal wealth to address some really tricky global issues?
#20
Bill Gates no longer runs MS, Steve Ballmer (the big buffoon) does.

Got a different deal on mine - £35 for 12 months + 800 free MS points or £63 for 24 months + 1600 MS points for free. Both seem very good to me.

its not about whos running ms but whos getting lots of the cash - im just concerned dats all...nor is it immature to worry about the world we live in and humanity as a whole - quite the opposite...
dig around alittle most of the super wealthy couldnt give a damn - it mostly show.

'personal wealth' hmm sure it may look like that but i doubt thats actually the case
sticking viruses in insects to reduce population is mad science as is investing huge amounts of personal wealth in monsanto gm crops etc - all very irresponsible dangerous
but i digress so i'll stop

back to the deal it hard to get your crd crd details clear - off ms
every few years when you get a new card then i'd recommend just buying points or live prepaid cards just purely from personal experience

Bill Gates has donated something like a billion dollars to charity... that might not seem a lot compared to his personal wealth but thats still affected so many lives in a positive way.

And hes also said he will leave his 30+Billion $$ to charity when he dies...and not his kids.

Couldn't I just buy 12 of these, one after the other, for 12 quid, and say eff the 12-month subscription price? XBOX Live allows you to do that, right? Or not?

Riight the daily mail lol

here's a quote “The world today has 6.8 billion people… that’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.” Bill Gates

And here's me thinking that vaccines, health care, reproductive health services was for saving lives

its sick thats what it is!

He doesn't mean kill people, he means stop people in countries like China and India having so many kids that theres not enough food for them so they die. If this happens less everyone will be happy and there will be less poverty!
