£42 for a recondition when its only £50 for a new one!
#4
This is like "Come dine with me" lower score because the ice cream was cold X) hehehehe

A reconditioned 1tb drive for £32 aint too bad, but when you factor in the £9 p&p it's just not worth it.So I'm voting it cold, sorry.

There is no reason to discourage people from posting deals.

Isn't that kind of the point of the site? to rate deals so you can tell if they're good or not? Helps out ppl with little knowledge of prices in certain areas. I don't see anyone commenting on the seller themselves as in some threads, just saying that the bad price/poorly detailed post is a cold vote for them and why.

It's very annoying when people vote cold and don't say why.

I'm glad he cared enough to post it and I hope he'll post more in the future, but this is a very cold deal for a refrub'd 1tb drive.

Its you that has been rude/impolite to people who commented to your so-called two refurbished Ext drive 'deals' you posted yesterday. If you have not been able to find the lowest price or to make the right calculations for total delivered price, there is no reason to get annoyed. Don't be sarcastic.Try to learn how to post hot deals!

We can all say it's not good value which may well be the case, but if its it not the cheapest just say where a 1TB Iomega Prestige is cheaper .. there nothing complicated in that . .you only have to search on this site to see it's not over priced I have seen a few within a few pounds of this price but none cheaper . .I am sure by now you have all done a search so let have some posting where they are !!

This is not a bad price, even with the postage. But there's no data I have that's valuable enough to store yet I'll entrust it to a reconditioned drive. OTOH, I can think of data that might be in that category - for example, DVDs that I've copied to the hard drive but still have the originals of. For some people this could be a bargain, and I hope the OP will post again soon.

If the company had faith in the product you would think the original guarantee of at least 1 year would be included. 3 months is simply not worth consdering if you are risking valuable data ! I have bought many refurb.tech. products but only with full guarantee. Usually most refurbs are new but can not be sold as that once the box has been opened..

I agree with you about short warranties on refurb products, but I would say it is the exception that refurb product carry the same warranty as a new product, most have a limited warranty

I would understand your reluctance to use as a "Backup Drive" if it was your intention was to keep backing up on a daily or weekly basis, whereas I would use it as a archive drive to free up other hard drives full of old files, which are on several hard drives. Over time I have replaced hard drives with larger one from 80gb to 120bg to 250gb to 500bg ( many files are simply duplication of older files) and dump all the files from the hard drives to one 1 TB drive so freeing up the old drives which can be used . my personnel view is I would never use a 1 TB drive on a daily basis to much data to lose at one time

But still nobody has come up with a cheaper drive
