1TB mSATA at the price of the regular Evo SSD.

N.B. Yes, it will be cheaper next year. Yes, you could almost get 2 laptops for this price. I don't care, I'm having it.

Regardless i think this is a cracking deal, one small chip to plant on your MB and you have 1TB, basically a clean build and no need for moving parts!

Hot. Pity the 512MB is not similarly well-priced, don't need 1TB yet.

I have an unused mSata connection on my mobo . I'm looking to upgrade my existing SSD to a new 1TB SSD , and put the old one on the wife's laptop. Is there any advantage to getting this mSata SSD or should I just get a conventional SSD and put it in the drive bay ?

Unless this is cheaper, not really. It still connects to the sata controller so there's no performance advantage.

Find me a 1TB tablet please!

Or you could just have a passive heatsink and psu.

That's a tablet PC, in any case we were talking about "no moving parts" so this example that you gave has a fan. Mind you a 1TB hand held tablet with 1-2 watt quad core or more is a few years' away, not too long!

can't afford this but I've got an archos 101 g9 with a 250gb HDD in it, and there are instructions on xda-developers to upgrade it with an msata!

Electrons do pass from atom to atom in electrically conductive materials ie metal.
So I'd say they do move.

We could go far too deep into this. Lets just agree that the definition of a "moving part" is normally something of human scale, ie something larger than a molecule. Any smaller and you can claim the vibrations of an atom count as movement. And then *almost* every object in the universe is a moving part.
