It is listed further down the page, surprisingly under Samsung Hard Drives!

Nah, last day at work, so had time to look through and see if anything was worth ordering.

Wonder if Scan are hiring... xD

Would be interesting to see if the price of Samsung drives drops now they have sold their hard drive division.

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my dell xps and was looking to get a 500gb internal drive. I don't know much about these so I've not got a clue on which one to get.. currently I've got a 160gb Samsung Sata 5400rpm.

Would something like this work.. : http://www.scan.co.uk/products/500gb-samsung-hm500jj-spinpoint-mp4-25-hdd-sata-3gb-s-7200rpm-16mb-cache-11-ms ?

    Would appreciate any help, thanks!

Do not think so, I would rather expect an increase - fewer competitors on the market means no pressure to reduce the price.

not quite - they've sold them to seagate, but instead of cash, bought stocks in seagate - effectively they're merged instead of having sold them. samsung now own 9.6 % stake, and have a samsung exec on seagates board of directors

Just installed this in my Imac. Ordered it on Wednesday, to get here before the weekend. It did, next day delivery. It was my first order from scan, and can't fault them so far. I paid 44.16 all in, so if I waited I could have saved a bit. Oh well.

    Hot from me.

Very impressed with the drive. Lightning fast and reasonably quiet.
But this is hardly a deal at £1 less than it is usually going for.

Yes, but it means exactly what I said before - fewer competitors on the market

Did it come up and confirm that free carriage was set?

Yes, it says on the AV forums site
"Good news - you qualify for the SCAN & AVForums loyalty programme!
Click here to visit the SCAN website and log in/register to qualify for free delivery on all orders of £20 or over (excluding VAT)."

I click the link, sign into Scan, add item to basket but at checkout it includes £3.99 carriage for the drive?
