I'm looking but I can't see it on there, is it in today only or another offer? Thanks.

Edit: Odd, I was still seeing yesterdays Today Only until I deleted cookies and ctrl-refreshed.

Edit 2: Very Odd, half the time the link gives me the 12th May page and half the time the 13th :p

So im now a member of avforums. How do i get the carriage to become free? At the moment it is still asking £6.99 for it.
#13
Do you not need to have made a certain number posts on avforums to qualify for the free delivery or am I thinking about a different forum/retailer collaboration?
#14
I had one of these die on me within 3 weeks and just look at all of the other similar experiences on Ebuyer reviews.

Had it swapped with a WD Caviar Black and although no problems at all i'm missing the quietness of the Samsung. The WD is significantly louder but i've got used to it.

Log into AVF & follow the link at the bottom of the offer page (screenshot below). You need to be logged in at Scan too to see it take off delivery charges in your basket.

That's for the Hexus offer.

Once logged in, revisit the link that I posted earlier, the page should then have a link to Scan on it which allows you to log and and shop with the free shipping.

hexus offer is better - free delivery over £20

Thanks guys, ive got it now. Im going through the process of ordering now, and have come across this £1.35 charge for "scansure". Just wondering if its worth it or not. I know i can take it off if i like, but was just thinking that if it does go faulty, might it be easier to say to scan that i accidently damaged it as opposed to go through the RMA process?

Also, does anyone know how long the manufacturers warranty on this is?

Great Drive Great Price however RIP OFF Scan for Northern Ireland customers wo apparently live somewhere west of the Falkland Islands :x

The samsung is faster than the raptors in most respects, it was only faster in 1 test they did at custompc - read the review here -

It's the same with the AVF offer. With Hexus you need 20 posts minimum. AVF doesn't seem to have any special criteria, except that you're a registered & active member.

I think you need a 2.5" drive for that? This is 3.5".

Different size drives mate, this is 3.5", they only make upto 500gb for 2.5" i believe and there quite expensive atm.

Check the most recent ones not the oldest ones.
#31
You always heard about the bad ones because people are ****** off - I've had two for about 5 months now and both great! Quiet and fast!
#32
Anyone know if xp will work with so big hard drive?
#33
Thanks. I've been waiting and have bought 4. Am I right in thinking that I won't get any cables with these? Has been so long I can't remember.

nope... get one of the cheap ones... . £1.27 and they work great :D
#35
I bought 2 of these in Jan 2009 when they were 75 quid each at Ebuyer (now 69.99 quid), which is a little risky in case there's a bad batch, but they've both been fine in my Dell Vostro 400.

Cheap, quiet, fast and cool - they tick all the boxes and are highly recommended. An hdparm test in Linux showed an impressive 116Mbytes/second read speed and they trimmed 5 seconds off both my Linux and Windows boot times.

Probably my best ever PC desktop-related purchase I reckon.
#36
Its a very good deal but stop tempting me lol
#37
Bought 2 of these recently one from Ebuyer and one from pix mania.

one was 71.92 after delivery other 68.92 (with quidco)

these work in my Sky HD box the (Amstrad) and my brothers (Samsung). used copy + to utilise the full capacity of the disc. and both work well. slightly noiser on writeing to drive but no problem other than that.

up to £66.34 now by the looks of it...
