This is the newer Spinpoint F3, £60.82 at scan.co.uk

this is the F3, not seen it elsewhere yet, but Aria's postage costs are shocking. Not worth it for single items.

As tommy said, also available at Scan.

Maybe this week, Scan will have it on todayonly for ~£55?

Would be good for those who can get free delivery

In basket at £56.28.
Dabs have the older F1 for £57.78 inc vat.
Scan have the F3 for £60.82 Inc VAT, tho' postage extra unless you are a av.forum member (which I'm not).

But how accurate is their 'approximate' delivery charge?

If accurate, this would be a good buy

Should be fine as long as you're mainland UK:thumbsup:

Grrrr I only just ordered an F1 from Scan... is this much better? At first glance the specs look similar.

According to Tomshardware a posible 30% performance gain and lower power consumption: "Samsung sent over a press release revealing the new Spinpoint F3 line of high-density hard drives that only use two platters. Operating at 7200 RPM rotational speed, the new line provides up to 1 TB (Terabyte) of storage, meaning the drive's two platter disks would consist of 500 GB each. By using only two disks, the drives use less power and offers 30-percent higher performance than a three-platter drive in the same 3.5-inch form factor."

Thanks for the info.

I'll stick with my F1 for storage (unless it happens to be DOA), and get an F3 for my OS when W7 is out.

This is a copy/answer to the seagate 7000.12 (12th generation) drives. I would just buy a seagate insted.

update - just seen that this is now available to pre-order from Ebuyer at £57.99 with free delivery, so a slightly better deal.
