Without breaking what? the HDD itself? I'd imagine entirely possible. Its not breaking the enclosure thats iffy.

Won't be hard with a decent spudger, no guarantees it's a sata drive inside though...

I have the silver 500GB model.
The drive inside was SATA and the case is easy to open and reuse.
If you look at the picture, you see the top overlaps the sides. If you simply pull each flap away from the side, the top just pops off.
The overlapping flaps can bend quite a lot before breaking.
I have popped in and out a few drives and the enclosure has not broken yet.
Hope this helps,

- tonymac

Its one of the best deals for a portable harddrive. For one going inside a computer you'll get better speeds and more gb/£ with a 2tb or 3tb disk. For pure speed there are some cracking deals on 120/128gb SSDs.

Hot deal, really nice price. I just can't afford to spend anymore money at the minute! Might have to find a USB dongle...

I put this hard drive up at the same price a couple weeks ago from staples. Bought one myself and I am very happy with it, although the cable is a bit short! Still a very good price!

To upgrade the internal drive you mean? If so: No, X1 drives are proprietary.

Think he means is it compatible with the Xbox One External HDD support that has just been released..

Can't see why not as it's USB3?

Well if it's the same Verb. Store&Go I bought a while back then it's 100% a SATA drive (Model # 53023 1TB)

It had a nice decent 1TB Toshiba 2.5" inside which is now running all my XBLA games on my RGH Trinity (Although I had to use a USB2 --> SATA convertor as the 360 doesn't play nicely with USB3 for some reason!!)

Also the tiny USB3 > SATA is perfectly use-able with all the other 2.5" SATA HDD's I've tried on it!! (Some WD converters are locked to specific HDD's/Sizes)

Here have a pic!

It good to have it confirmed, but what I'm getting at is that all in one boards like this:

http://did5.ru/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/samsung_g2_portable_320_3.jpg

Are fast becoming the norm. useless outside the caddy. The USB converter is now part of the mainboard. Unless you can confirm before you take the plunge it's not worth risking anymore.

Thanks OP, have been looking for one for a few weeks, but with free next day delivery and a bit of cashback I've finally taken the plunge!

Not come across one of those ports before (and I work in the IT department for a University!) though. I assume the cables are included!

Yeah the pic below is a better example of a modern usb3 2.5" embedded connector:

How did you get free next day delivery? The only free option for me was 5 day delivery.

I swear that was what it said but I'll check later! It definitely said next day delivery and was £0.00 but not sure if this carried through checkout!

Will be a bit annoyed as I could do with it for the weekend!

Just checked my order history and it was shipped today, free next day delivery. Not sure why that happened (I went through Quidco) and it's supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

It's being sent by Yodel though, so could turn up anywhere or any time! Luckily I'm having it sent to work otherwise they'd probably deliver it three doors up, which they've done with the last three deliveries!

Lucky you! I could have done with mine for tomorrow too, in the middle of backing up my computers for a routine format and only have a couple of 320gb portables. Never mind, still a good deal!

You're missing the point, the connecter is by the by. That they're creating all in one logic boards for the drives in externals and what that means for people looking to open them up and use the bare drives is what I'm getting at.
