They had the same deal last year and when I bought the two £ 25 cards it automatically triggered the free £ 5 voucher even though you were only paying £ 40. I seem to remember others saying the same thing so I don't believe that this was simply a mistake.

Edit - found the thread I was talking about.

Thats a a good deal especially if you have Argos voucher cards to use too.

Not bad, but have seen better deals. The last scorcher was by Morrisons. However, if you can wait, ITUNE deals are two a penny, around Fathers Day (June).

so great

I've never bought these before but gives me an idea as a present for someone. Do they have an expiry date?
#6
Time to stock these up especially for mac users. The upcoming "lion" will need this easily :)

Good deal, heat from me!

Unfortunately i was right:

13. Excludes the purchase of gift cards using free vouchers as a method of payment.

For anyone who would like to see the T+C of the free voucher offer themselves, they can be seen here:

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Well I've bought an iTunes gift card using my Argos gift card.
I did pay partly with cash if that makes any difference. £10 gift card & £5 cash.

An iTunes voucher is not a gift card, it's more of a top up card.

This is only luke warm. Personally I wait until for the £10 for £15 voucher offers then stock up saving a third of the price.

Hi, I'm not sure T&C's of 'Free Argos Vouchers', but I have a pre-loaded Argos gift card and I have used that before to buy other gift cards, not just itunes but also Next Cards etc too, so they do accept Argos cards to buy other people's vouchers. No idea if it's store specific?? No-one has ever questioned it

ITunes vouchers are not a good gift for anyone who knows anything about the internet, they will (and do) download any songs/movies/whatever they want for free, instead of paying for them on ITunes or whatever, rather give them the money. ;)

That's not at all true, I am familiar with newsgroups but still buy music / apps in itunes because it's so much more convenient - it's just there, in the right place, with the right artwork and will simply restore if you have an issue

If i download an album on newsgroup i need to rename it, move it, load it into itunes, grab artwork, remove stupid lyric stuff and transfer to iphone.

All in all, not worth the aggro

Some of us use them to buy iPhone apps. Last summer, I bought £150 of them when Argos ran a 2x£15 cards for £20, and since then I get some every time Tesco Clubcard run an offer - this way it's like I'm paying <40p per app instead of 60p.

Went in to get these this morning, and the till debited my card, then refunded it... apparently it's only happening on the iTunes deal?!!! Well done Argos, heavily advertise it, then withdraw it sneakily?!!

Anyone else had this?!
#19
Yes I did, apparently they have a batch of old or faulty cards that are refusing to be topped up at theArgos tills. The manager got some new ones from elsewhere in the store and they scanned through fine

Aha... Thanks IndianaBlues! The shop assistant in my store seemed bewildered, and struggled to suggest any resolution. I guess I'll try a different store tomorrow now... and hope that first transaction definitely refunds?!!!

The manager at my local ended up taking £40 cash out of the till then putting it back through for the second transaction rather than refund my card then take the money off again. I can't remember what the difference was between the cards - possible the old ones were white and pink whereas the new ones were solid pink....possibly...

I bought 2 and didn't get the £5, I guess because I only spent £40 in the end.

I bought £80 worth (4 cards) and got the £5 voucher. American Express had also sent me an offer last month saying if I spend £80 or more at Argos till end of June I get a free £10 Argos gift card.

So I basically got £100 of iTunes vouchers effectively for £65. The girl at the checkout was bewildered at what a good deal it was :D

I spent £100 ( £40on vouchers) and still got the £10 card
