Long time lurker, but 1st post. Don't fret though - I'm prepared for the the wrath of some of those not so friendly hukd users all set to blast me for messing up! ;-)

Was looking for loft ladder when I spotted this, which for me is much more flexible as it doesn't require loads of fitting and is usable for other applications too.

Listed at £59.99, use code: secret3 to get £3 off any purchase over £30 (credit to edi for this) - Quidco lists 7% for Maplin too - but not sure it is compatible with the voucher code. The ladder is on promotion until 25/01/2011. Mine arrived today - next day delivery too!

Easy to use locking mechanism with twin safety catches.

Lightweight aluminium construction - weighs only 8.5kg
9 steps
Maximum load: 150kg
Tested to European Safety Standard EN131
Includes handy carry and storage bag
Dimensions closed: 79cm (h) x 48cm (w) x 8.5cm (d)

This telescopic ladder is ideal for accessing lofts, cleaning windows, interior and exterior painting and decorating. It is suitable for the DIYer and light trade use. Compact and completely portable at just 79cm when closed, it extends fully up to 2.9m.

I saw this the other day. Unfortunately only one voucher allowed so it's the freegift or the money off.
Wish I could reserve and collect and use a voucher :(
Voted hot - any feed back by someone that has one?

As a short general purpose ladder, fine, but as 2.9m is just 9' 6" & to use as a loft ladder, you are going to have to have very low ceilings (once the ladder is tilted, it's going to reach a lot less than that height!).

Have you all done your ladder course?

Remember don't work off your ladder beyond the 4th step, which means you are over paying for 5 steps with this ladder...lol

Pointless buying this one :p

It isn't pointless if you plan to use it just for accessing your loft.

I find the extra steps useful to hold on to. But a very good point about ladder misuse.

I think Homebase have some cheap steps at the moment.

I needed a ladder recently and got this one... its up to 3.4m for under £45 and can fold into different positions.

:p

I have one like the one bombaclat linked above which is great for outdoors but way too big for practical use as a loft ladder replacement. Been after a cheap one of these telescopic ones that can be stuck under the bed / in the airing cupboard when not needed for accessing the loft but the only cheap ones seem to be these ones that are shorter than 3m. Anyone seen any good deals on telescopic ladders around 3.3m in length?

I do use the multi purpose one in the house mate, used it everywhere so far (_;) it does folds up into a kind of cuboid shape, you can put it into a cupboard somewhere and take out when needed... I do know what you mean though, its not a dedicated loft ladder replacement.

Hi guys, I think this one would be fine for me but Netto have got 3.2m for 69.99, its a direct copy of the one's that at cheapest are £99.99, they had plenty in my Lincoln store, and it was on the national leaflet of offers so you should all have had them in at some point. I was last in there about a week ago. Cheers.
