No, I just ordered something, didn't notice anything about it advertised, it just came through on an email saying that due to a purchase made on the 19th December I was entitled to a £2 credit to spend in the Appstore.

True. You can hardly find anything useful. I have so many apps that I have bought for the sake of using the £2 vouchers and have never even downloaded them to my phone.

Wish I'd know that earlier, placed an order for £6 this morning and another for £9.99 (typical) an hour or so ago. Would have added a couple more things to the basket if I'd known which I'll probably end up ordering before Christmas anyway.

Still have about £8 left from the £20+ of Amazon Coins they gave away a very long time ago.

Slowly using it on the rare occasions I find something I want on Google Play, that costs money, that's also on the Amazon app store.

Haven't used an Amazon tablet so can't comment on the UI but being locked into the Amazon app store would put me off loads, so many apps are missing.

I got The Chase app earlier, I think it was £1.45, but might need to pay 69p for the 'Casual' setting - often get caught even on the low offer oO

I got this earlier too. Not sure what to spend the £2 on, any recommendations?
#13
Ah dammit. Just bought something on the appstore choosing to pay money instead of coins, believing it would be paid by the promotional credit, only to find that (I think) the promotional credit was used yesterday when I bought something else with coins. Instead of deprecating my coins balance, it showed as having cost zero coins, which I didn't notice at the time. Which means my promotional credit is all gone and I've now paid actual money for the app I just bought. Which is annoying as I also have a load of spare Amazon coins. Have requested that they cancel my order :-/

After you've gotten some recommendations you might want to wait until the Christmas Day and Boxing Day giveaways have happened before spending it as there are usually a few decent things on offer for free then, just to be on the safe side.

I think I got £4 or £6 from my Christmas shopping. I think it's really just bait since nobody uses their store. I'll have to see if there's anything half-good on it.

The app store is good. Just bought my missus a huge batch of coins as she loves the casual games on there.

Promotional coins do eventually expire although not coins brought with real money. I also built up £20 worth so tried to spend for fear of loosing.
#18
Damn it brought 700 quid of items the other day do I still get that offer?
#19
I got like £30 worth of coins but all the gpod apps need a kindle :/
#20
Hot from me :) cheers

The credit hasn't been applied to my appstore account. Anyone experienced this?

I got the email a couple of days ago and everything.
#22
Never got the email even though I spent over 40 quid yesterday.
#23
Can these Appstore credits be used for music ?
#24
Got my £2 credit yesterday, much like others though I've got absolutely no idea what to spend it on...

I've had a few app from the Store, unfortunately they have always been out of date compared to Google Play Store.

Thats right, recently I purchased Sygic on Amazon App store then realized how much out of date the version is so I complained to Sygic app maker and have been told to GET A REFUND from Amazon due to app not being designed for non-FiRE devices. There is no info about that in the app description whatsoever.

Absolutley spot on.

I got £28 worth of free Amazon Coins (courtesy of the 1 day special listed on HUKD) and so far I have £27 worth still.

The only useful stuff I can see is the WIFI Analyser.

All the rest is dross.

If it was £1 I might have got Minecraft, but the reviews seem damming.

Not a patch on the PC version and not worth £5, even if paying with "free money".

The free BBC iplayer is good, so are the weather (BBC and Met Office) apps, in that I actually use them a lot.

Here's the link for this year's free apps for Christmas (available 24th-26th Dec)
