Asda do similar poachers to these at £2.00 for two. I bought them and returned them. The eggs stick to the poachers, even if you grease the silicone first, and most of the white stays in the cups. The sides of the poachers, (Asda ones), are very flexible, making it very awkward and dangerous to lower or remove them from the pan of boiling water, not recommended at all.

I bought the Green ones in May and they are great. Use butter to grease them and most just slide out. Those that stick i use the handle of spoon, and run it between the egg and poacher. I agree about taking them out, though.
Not used the Yellow ones.

I saw some of these today, although there not exactly the same, they were only £1.99 for 2

As I wrote the other day, I've got the poachpod version and they're not good. Eggs take much longer to cook and don't cook evenly so by the time the top is done the bottom is too hard. The eggs tend to plasticise, too, just like all poachers. Stick to hot water and vinegar.

Those are the ones i use and are great. Maybe you need a hot deal on cooking lessons, or may i suggest try a lid on the pan so the steam cooks the top of the eggs.

Amazon has 128 reviews averaging over 4.5. (93 five star, 23 4 star). There's only a single 1 star which made me chuckle, it says:- Given as a gift and after trying several times the pot would boil over, or the eggs wouldn't come out and be overcooked. Wouldn't recommend so I'm back to frying my eggs until something better comes along .

Just gave this a go. 100 times better than poachpod, not as good as my water and vinegar and love.

Cling film was designed for wrapping cold food, not to be used as a cooking pot. I would not recommend using cling film in boiling water for poaching eggs, and the only ones suggesting it 'might' be safe up to 100 degrees C appear to be some manufacturers of similar products who state the plasticisers used in its manufacture should not break down below 120 degrees C. Considering the potential that cancer causing substances could be released if cling film type products are heated above 100 degrees C, it is not a risk I would want to take just to try and poach an egg.

I agree its a risk not worth taking. I'll stick to the poachpod or my new asbestos poacher, Michael Douglas gave me.
