Double pack of very well priced smoke alarms from a leading brand. Wouldn't have thought I needed fire alarms till I came across it but it's an essential for every house. Before cold voters go on about getting them free from the fireservice or some other subsidised source, I must say that to the average person who doesn't think about fire safety often this could be a lucky and useful find. Tech specs on site are:
Twin Pack (Upstairs and Downstairs)
Easy Press Test and Silence
Ionisation Sensor
Battery Included
Certified to BS EN 14604:2005
Optical sensor

Which in English means:

Ionisation sensor provides early warning of fast flaming fires that may spread rapidly and burn without producing thick smoke

Toast Proof optical sensor is less prone to nuisance alarms from cooking fumes

Large central test & silence button makes weekly testing and silencing easy

Low battery warning signal

Replaceable battery included lasts 12 months in normal conditions

why would you toast it?
why would you toast it?

I lol'ed :P
While the fire service ones are free they are very easy to set of. The steam from my shower sets mine of, and even the heat from a tea light candle meters away can start it huffing and puffing.

Sure its good to know that they work but anything hot in the house just starts hissy fits .
First deal on here that I don't want to see "hot".

Great find. I'm in the process of decorating & decided that the current smoke detectors are probably past their best given that the plastic is all discoloured due to their age!

West Mids Fire Service are putting these exact models in for free at the moment, but only for people with no current fire alarms in their property.

I wasn't bothered about my own life, but i'm going to be renting my flat out to my niece shortly so am definitely not taking chances with hers

But if your too busy to take time off and wait for the fire service to turn up ( I had 2 cancellations due to putting out fires taking priority. Yes, they turn up in the big red truck between "shouts") then this is an alternative
These are great little smokers! They look look nice, loud as heck, and yes they are toast proof lol!
With the cost of council tax, paying for the fire service, it makes sense to buy some, such as with this deal.

Heaven knows what the price is of getting an engine round to someone's place to fit them - though life is priceless.

That said, my sister has had 2 homes gutted with fires, so it's a bigger risk than many of us think. (She's no arsonist - 1st one was a plugged in hifi unit on standby whilst she was out, 2nd from a cooker)

Moral - don't leave stuff on standby, get insured, and get smoke detectors in case you're inside.
Sold out now
Shame. Sold out :(
you can get free smoke detectors if you contact your local fire service, they will come out free of charge and fit them as well
well done for reading mate
ordered 2 but 2 carbon monoxide alarms turned up instead
