The only difference with these compared with the expensive supermarket ones is you pee in a cup then dip the strip in for a specific amount of time and to a specific depth (follow instructions carefully for an accurate result) whereas the expensive ones you pee onto directly.

My wife got a positive result from one of these, we verified it with a more expensive digital one but these do the job!
#3
yes, you can't get a false positive so why buy the expensive ones (unless like you said, you think it is more accurate)..........next time you'll trust the cheapies!!!! Heat as the se are great.

I can verify these tests are brill and do the job, I used one and it was positive, used another just to check, then hubby made me buy an expensive test as he didn't trust these ones and guess what....yes positive and my 11 month old bundle of joy sat chomping away on my iphone is proof of that! lol

These should be called bearer of bad/good news depending how you want to look at it? oO
Worked fine for us apart from the now sleepless nights 8)
Was about 5 weeks when tried them but they worked fine.
Then save getting the more expensive ones just make and appointment to see your doc to confirm the bad/good news.

wow am surprised that I am the first to say......

If you have to buy a pregnancy test from Poundland, you are definitely pregnant!!
#11
They used to do packs of 3 for £1. They also have these in the 99p store. Also these are really good, the GPs often use these ones to confirm. Hot from me.
#12
I saw these in Poundland in Luton yesterday, great deal - save your money for the baby!!
#13
you can buy the pack of 3 for £1 at semi chem
all pregnancy tests are the same no matter what the price as long as you follow the instructions as some vary

Or the beer, one way flight to OZ, or the vasectomy (2 bricks on the cheap)
= any of the above.
she's going to kill me ;)

Only thing to be aware of with some kits not necessarily the cheaper ones is that some are more sensitive than others so you might get a false negative, always a good idea to do a couple if you're going to need one. Use one first thing in the morning one day then try again a few days later to double check especially if you think it's early in the pregnancy hCG levels can be too low for some tests so best to double up and at this price - winner

Not all pregnancys are unplanned, I am trying for a baby and these tests are a god send as it would become quite costly using expensive tests each time I want to check to see if I was pregnant.
#17
Pay £1 for the test, but pay £££££££ for the next 18 years.
#18
Great if your trying for a baby and need to buy for months and months :)
#19
I think i need to get myself down to poundland, hope they have them in the store near me ! been trying for a baby since jan, and spent a fortune on the digital ones, especially as i was 5 days late, i kept buying the tests, some were boots own brands, but for this price i can stock up ! X)

These are very sensitive.... they pick up 15 MIU of HCG so more sensitive than clearblue which pick up 25 MIU of HCG.
#21
they also do a triple pack of 25 MIU tests in home bargains for 99p or a double pack for 89p, same price for the ovulation tests too :)
#22
i get mine from ebay, they are about 17p each i think

you dont need to pay a lot for these but the very cheap ones will give a lot of false positives/negatives, and i do mean a lot. You can negate this by buying several indeed but it will only lead to confusion, do yourself a favour and buy a cheap one from a supermarket pharmacy.

My experience of anything cheap from a supermarket is that its the same thing as poundland, but more money. What you're saying is that if these were a fiver they'd give better results. I admit they're basic, but you're just paying the extra for a fancier handle to hold it with.

Also includes a free pair of latex gloves per test!

I should also say that if your wife is desperate for a baby, she'll go through a large number of tests. Much better to waste 50p than a fiver

do explain thelatics- I didn't understand that comment either! I thought I was the only one

It's a joke that often gets quoted (usually repeatedly) when the Poundland pregnancy tests rear their ugly head again.

£1 preggers tests have been on HUKD more times than I can remember, it aint a Hot Deal as its a normal price all year round.

And the joke is that the stereotypical shopper from Poundland is the type to get pregnant and so would be buying a test when it would be highly likely that they would be pregnant. The implication is that it is the Jeremy Kyle generation who shop at Poundland - Jeez explaining a joke takes all the fun out of it.

NB I noticed that some posters mention a pack of 3 also for a £1 - maybe that's the problem, the people buying these didn't invest in a pack of 3 (explain = condoms, also £1 for 3 at Poundland) in the first place.

thanks for your thorough explanation. I'm fairly new to HUKD so that's my excuse. Oh, And I think I fall into that stereotypical category!
