Might be of use to some people.

Ember Inns currently has an offer on 2 for 1 on all Gourmet Burgers and also a selection of their menu:

Succulent 8oz Gammon Steak
Traditional Fish & Chips
Ember Char-grilled Chicken Skewer
Our ever popular Ember Steak and Timothy Taylor Ale Pie
Last, but not least our tasty Stuffed Butternut Squash

Might need to go in the voucher section instead, as you need to download a voucher from their website.

Was gonna go with my wife and son for a meal....only to find they don't allow children (under 14) so we shall eat elsewhere then!!!!

Still a good find though, if you don't have kids.

I've seen kids in the ones around me before, but I suppose it's down to the manager though.

Was on their website, so I didn't want to risk the trek and be turned away

My local Ember Inn is a great pub (friendly staff, good atmosphere and always a good selection of real ales) and the food is pretty good too. I sympathise with andywedge re the ban on under 14s but I have to say that the absence of kids does add enormously to the place. Your son may be fine but many kids in pubs aren't - parents' fault, not the kids'.
