Prices are laughable at best.
Whacking most up by a fiver plus as they were cheaper to buy on their own before the "sale"

This is awful. They're all cheaper to buy new separately elsewhere.

This is actually true sadly. When I worked there the prices would be increased a few days before and then add the deal stickers to them days later. Needless to say, just get them from CeX or online, literally half the price.

Surely that's illegal? http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/what-are-my-rights-when-i-shop-in-a-sale

Were the prices inflated 28+ days before the sale?

For a chain with multiple stores only one store has to display the goods at the inflated price for all the stores to qualify. Have you ever been into a furniture shop and wondered why everything was half price.
