Did you have problems with Quidco and this particular company, or just Quidco in general?

Quidco in general......

It didn't track my HMV order or HQhair order.

Put an enquiry in, HMV only paid out 50% & HQhair is still pending......
#5
Quidco continued...

I pre-ordered a Wii from HMV, the order was tracked and they have already paid the commission despite:
a) the order has not been dispatched
b) no payment has been taken from my account
c) I've cancelled the pre-order!!!

I guess at some point the money will be clawed back???
#6
Maybe - who knows ???

I got paid £5 for a £100 Woolworths purchase I didn't make ??

Does it go by IP address or something as I work in a huge office ?
#7
Point on the original post, it's 43.89+VAT = 51.57. Minus £30, if it gets paid, 21.57 for two xbox games. I've done it, I'll let you know if it's tracked or not :)

Also, not mentioned, is that you're in a draw for one of 10 xbox 360's (to take place on 01/02/06)

Can't do, me and a colleague both use it and most things seem to track OK.

Got to say about the fasthosts account. What use is it? It doesn't even come with a database, mysql is an extra £25/year.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something to do with it, but I don't have much use for completely static sites.. Assuming quidco comes through, good cheap games though :)

Thanks Kallisti, wasn't sure about the VAT and didn't think there was any point in mentioning the competition (hope u win though)

you don't *have* to have a database for a dynamic website, it's just a bit easier :)

php's file handling abilities are good, although not as fast as a database obviously

You can connect to a Microsoft Access database through ODBC if you really need a database. Would be okay for a low volume website.
#13
Can someone post back once they've had one of these tracked through quidco. At 50 quid the offer isn't worth it and there's a no refund policy in the T&C. At 20 quid it is definitely worth it :)

I preordered a ps3 through dvd.co.uk and recieved the quidco payment of around £20. They then cancelled the order. This happened months ago so don't worry the money is yours.

Quidco actually recieve payments first and then they pay you.
#15
there is actually a "warning" on Quidco pointing out that fasthosts originally "decline" the payment but it does eventually get sorted due to an anomaly in the system...I have £30 showing as declined at the moment...but I'm wondering as I registered a domain name as well will I get an extra £3....heres hoping
#16
***ON TOPIC***

Looks like Fasthosts are pulling a fast one with this. The payment was tracked ok, but declined by fasthosts. I've put an enquiry in, but looks as if it's working out at £51.57 for two xbox games and a wholly inadequate paid hosting service.

None of the uses I'd considered for it will work due to the lack of DB, lack of ability to put executables, lack of existing executables... Pretty crap really.

**edit** just read the post above (was on the second page, didn't notice the page icon!) fingers crossed, but I'm not expecting much!

The owner of this site owns Quidco - Rpoints is my preferance. I'm starting to fall out of favour with some of his decisions of late and the fact that my enquires have not been dealt with for a year or so with Quidco or responded to at all. Rpoints has a better tracking record according to many forums although Pauls argument is that they use the same network.

The transactions track via cookies on a pc so each time you click a link it drops a cookie.

Although rpoints don't pay the highest commssion they match the highest commission. you get £5 for joining too.

You have any proof of this ?
Mods can you confirm/deny ?

I would take something like that statement (H8tr) with a pinch of salt....I've not been on the forum long....but in the last few weeks...people who join, make one post the same day, make no further posts suddenly disappear from the boards....really spooky sometimes....now if my Xbox games would arrive, that only leaves my quidco payment....I've already got my web site up and running.....

What's the name of the site. I'm working on my own one at the moment. Never done it before but have talked for years about doing it.
#23
my only problem with this one is the fact that we're signing up for
----£30 for Standard account (Linux or Windows)------(on quidco)
but im not to sure if its the same thing on deal

Compare web hosting packages

home /developer/business

dont know if standard on quidco is home package on fasthosts.

might just be onto a non earner so will give a miss till i hear different.

I am involved with both sites along with several other sites but other than myself the people involved in hukd and quidco are not the same and they are separate.

my reading of it was , standard a/c on windows is what I signed up for at Fasthosts....which equates to the Quidco description and the £30 is shown as declined at the mo but then theres an explanatory note as to why that happens
#26
it says on quidco : Because of a reporting anomally your transaction may immediately show as declined. This should change to a validated status once it is approved by the merchant.

has anyone's transaction changed from declined to validated ???

was tempted buy this but it really would be just for the games of which i have perfect dark already so really it's just for pgr3
#27
So has anyone who has signed up been told when they might be getting the games?
#28
did it when it first came out and mine is still showing declined.will notify when it changes
#29
Got my games this morning....just have to wait about another fortnight and hopefully my status on Quidco will change from "declined" to paid....:-D

Just exactly as if I had bought them in a store....and yeah!....checked Quidco this morning and my £30 has been validated by the merchant so I can definitely confirm

Thanks for the positive rep (you know who you are)

don't think so, it is there for your use, doesn't say you have to actually use it.

Ordered as well.. I hope the quidco thing works .. will post back once it does.
#37
ordered aswell hopefully it works for me :)
#38
Just to let people know, my order turned to tracked over the last day or two. If only I could learn to drive the Ferarri F50 in PGR2, I'd be happy ;) Thanks for the heads up.
#39
thought I'd bump this again, as the deal is still on.

Seems too good to be missed in my opinion.
