Maybe, but you need to exit and then re-enter the stadium every time. The tokens for beer are given to you as you enter at the turnstile.

You pay good money to see dogs run around a track?

Why not just visit your local park - it's free ;-)

I dont care how cheap it is, its responsible for to many dead, abandoned and tortured grey hounds. You see if the dog doesnt win the scum that own them either get rid of them by any means or torture them etc.

Most people dont know about that side of it or just dont want to know as its a cheap night out. But seriously think about it.

And dont reply with pathetic remarks about how you dont care and your gonna go anyway.

You post applies to a tiny minority, and not the vast majority of owners / trainers.
#11
So you telling me that the majority dont mind if their dog loses and keep it at home as a pet? if that was the case then they would have 50+ grey hounds at home within a year or two. Some of the better trainers will give their losing dogs to greyhound rescue charities (which are absolutely full with beautiful greyhound, wippets and lurchers, if your after a dog I recommend going to one of these places).

But the whole racing industry is wrong. When an animal is valued only on how much money it can make I dont see a good outcome for any of the animals involved.

Maybe you do have some small time greyhound owners that bought one as a pet and take it to the track for a hobby, but they are the minority in that game.

The takeaway food is crap btw.

That applies to any industry associated with animals. A hen is worth how many eggs it can lay and a bullock on how much its flesh is worth as meat.

But this deal wasn't posted as a statement on greyhound welfare - it was purely as a moneysaver for those interested in going to Bell Vue.

Spot on re the re-homing charities, I have a retired Greyhound and a Lurcher, both got through the GRWE charity. Excellent, child friendly pets, that need little exercising. Really!
If you're interested in Greyhound racing, you surely have some interest in the dog's welfare. Why not donate £3 quid out of what you've saved on the entrance fee to one of the Greyhound charities?

So ... what exactly do you do to help the Greyhounds ?

+1 on the adopted greyhound front. Had ours for about 2 years and she is a fantastic pet. Rehomed from a shelter that had hundreds of the poor mutts.

+1 on greyhounds as a pet. Re-homed ours just short of a year ago, she's great with our girls (4 and 1 years old), such a gentle nature.......constantly farts though!

I'd thoroughly recommend them if you're after a dog thats good with children and doesn't need much excercise - 30 minutes a day and they're done, lazy sods
#22
I'll not be going - I just don't like dogs. But it's a good deal if you like that sort of thing.
#23
Cracking, supposed to be going here for a stag do so ordered 17 for the group of us!

Perhaps the free food is abandoned greyhound
#24
My friend went to one of these cheap dog racing nights and took their kids for day out.
One of the greyhounds got knocked by the other dogs on the corner, fell ovcer & over and broke its back. It was carried off the track screaming, kids were really upset.
I'm sure the dog would have been put to sleep.

Thanks for posting a deal OP, but as a dog lover, I'm gonna give this one a miss!

Don't bother it's poor on so many levels.

Others have articulated the moral argument, if people didn't go for "one off events" then it would finally go to the dogs

"a delicious fast food meal"

Crikey, not last time I went!

A lot of tracks have closed. Compare the number of tracks just 5 years ago to now ... hence these offers.

Wimbledon at the moment are doing a penny deal that gives you admission and a meal. (for anyone who is in the south west london area)

Harlow stadium was doing the same deal earlier this year.
