2 Litre Vinegar Tesco Everyday Value £0.99

Saw this in Tesco Newton Le Willows, cant find online but it had a standard SEL. Sat next to Sarasons 2Litre which was £2.99.

I bought 2 at weekend and shelves restocked again tonight seen a few times now so assume its a standard line but just not stocked in all stores.

Bargain when you consider the standard sarason bottles hold 250ml so this refills them eight times meaning 12.5p per refill :)

HUK Dealer: "I'm off to buy another boot load of this cheap vinegar love. Be back in half an hour"

Wife (Aside): "I wonder whether there is a groupon divorce deal on?"

I'm pretty sure I paid sumfing like 20-odd pence for a 568ml bottle from Morrisons last week. That works out cheaper than this!

Make vinegar should be ok for coeliac. The gluten is broken down in vinegar similar to whiskey. It's a relatively recent discovery so you'll find plenty to the contrary. Coeliac UK agree with this. Plenty of items with barley malt vinegar say they contain but are often fine. Worcester sauce for example. Best to do your own research but I have a good source on this.

Tastes better that some of Tescos own brand wine

This is not malt vinegar though, it's Spirit Vinegar (chemically produced from acetic acid) with Barley Malt Extract (containing gluten) added to it for flavour and colour. Pretty much fake Malt Vinegar, that's why there is no "Malt" before the "Vinegar" on the label. A bit like comparing surgical spirit to vodka.

I keep mine in the cupboard and achieve the same effect, give it a try and if you still find the cats messing in you vinegar maybe you have too many cats.

Makes a GREAT Rust remover... Car/bike, garden tools put them in bucket/bowl, leave overnight and all shiny and bright the next morning!

haha! some of us are addicted to it.
My friend bought me a small bottle for my birthday as more of a joke.
In about 2 days I had used half the bottle!

I put far too much vinegar on everything

You know vinegar doesn't really go bad? You may not use 2 litres in one go but it adds up over time, so unless you live on your own and only have a year or two left to live you can save money by buying in bulk. I bought a regular 250ml bottle with a drippy top once and now buy 1 litre bottles to fill it up with and that lasts the two of us 2-3 years with just occasional usage. So certainly if you've got a family and are regular users, this makes financial sense which is what this site is all about.
