Went to my local in Preston when they had a similar offer last time and it was surprisingly very good!

Get a Bud 66 or a pint of EPA and you've got lunch or dinner sorted for £4.50 each for two.

Great find. The Sizzling Pub food near me is great. Excellent value!
#3
Value is fantastic. Just a shame that the decor is so poor in our local sizzler but guess thats why the prices are what they are?
#4
not the best food in the world but £5 for 2 its a bargain
#5
cheaper than eatting in
#6
Brilliant :D love the sizzling pub!

cheaper than eatting in

...and unhealthier :)
#8
Great deal. And they've usually got some great desserts too :D
#9
Better than a Mcuckie D's!

I always like the sound of this offer, but all reviews I can find of my local are poor, so I'm not so sure...

Its always the drinks that knock the bill up !!

Don't you notice all the deals on food in pubs hardly ever mention the drinks - as thats whats going to pump the total up to what their accountants what you to spend - minimum , you never see a pint of beer or lager for a £1 as part of the deal. Had a great chinese buffet recently £6.50 all you can eat - bargain - smallish coke to go with it £2.50 !!!

Not bad prices for average chain our sizzler is boring as hell inside,

Think Crown Carveries £3.59 is much better - the beef is now much better !! - drinks prices reasonabl-ish.

Good deal, especially if there's one of these near you.
Went there at the weekend with the kids and food was nice.
I had the steak and chicken which was good.
Hot deal for the price.
Would cost you more to get 2 sarnies from M+S!

Not quite your £1 a pint but my local has drinks on offer on Monday's, £1.65 for a pint of Carlsberg, Carling or smoothflow ale. Also the wine is £1.65 Blossom Hill Red or White (175ml) and a Bacardi & Mixer (25ml Bacardi & draught mixer). Plus on Mondays, a regular draught Pepsi or Lemonade is 99p!

kosher? anyone - for my jewish boyfriend.

You cant go wrong with most M&B Outlets, Crown, Toby, Sizzling, Ember inns etc all the same company.

Crown the best value for money its the same meat as Toby carvery just frozen veg not fresh
#16
Id rather eat my own feet!Sizzling are absolutely awful .If your gonna eat cheap crap you might as well go to Iceland ! For £5 you could eat that junk all year.
#17
good deal :)
#18
Bargain, but who`s working in the kitchen to cook up meals at £2.50p a head ?

watch out with this vat increase portions will become smaller (its called portion control)
#21
Would never eat there again even if they were paying me. Food was overcooked, hair in replacement and a dessert that we waited 45 mins for never turned up. Avoid (we ate in banbury)

So you wouldnt go into dozens of pubs that could be good because once you had a bad experience?

The portions at sizzlers are small already. I can't believe they give you so few chips . The burgers ( with a few measly chips) come on a plate most people would call saucer.
My partner always has a side order of onion rings. For £1.50 they only give you 5 or 6 of them.
On the plus side the Chicken ,bacon and cheese pie they do is lovely ( so much so they had sold out last time i visited)
#25
Love the tipsy steak pie :)

"How did you find your steak sir?"
"I just moved one of the chips and there it was" :)

The VAT increase amounts to 6p per meal so you may get a chip less

My wife loves it when I take her up the Sizzler!

oO

wouldnt have there meals if giving away terrible cheap food lol
#31
The southdowns near me in Bognor Regis is rubbish. Two nice bar people, the rest are missrible gits and girls.
One woman, seems to think she is doing you a favour by serving you, seems to forget I am the customer!!
Cheap food though, but like everywhere else you get what you pay for and in my local, its not service!
Moan over, heat added :-)

a guy on radio 5 yesterday said he would absorb the vat but he would" use portion control" what a miserable country it is becoming happy new year lol
