The one in Edinburgh is crap. Lousy staff attitude and service. Its called The Nest or summit like that. Heard a few stories of people feeling 'ill' after eating there. I only went in the once and once was enough.

I'm not surprised that its 2 for £5.

Tried my local recently and the cheeseburgers are really good. At 2 meals for £5 its cheaper than eating in. Have some heat.

oh and the service is great. Guess it depends on your local.

A Sizzling Pub For Fforestfach

Remember this is only Mon-Fri, and is only available at set times during the day.

Meals are fine and very good value, but the overall enjoyment depends on the pub. Poacher in Wigan is totally plastic with cold beer. Sherwood in Preston has better beer and pub is more comfortable (shame it's in Preston). The pubs tend to be open plan, and nothing like a traditional pub, but finding one of the latter serving food at a reasonable price is almost impossible, so the pubs are a fair compromise.

We have friends who work at our local sizzling pub, we only go to see them. The food is terrible!

My local Sizzling pub in Swansea (Llansamlet) is exactly the same strangely enough! Food is average but 2 for £5 is good value. The place itself is in desperate need of modernisation and a good scrub though. Oh and some working toilet seats would be ample, as well as removing the wide open windows that look out onto the entrance of the pub!

Been around for a while hot deal though

My local Sizzling is bad. Cold food and terrible service. Used to be good there.... :(

British beer is supposed to be served at 12C-14C. Lager somewhat cooler, but then lager in most English pubs bears no resemblance to real lager from Germany, Czech Republic etc. Anyone who drinks excessively chilled beer or stout (Guiness) is a victim of modern marketing.

Surely a bit of hanky panky is better use of ones time that being ripped off in ANY restaurant on Valentines Day?

Seemed a good deal so I searched for locations near to me and then did a google search for independent reviews. Whoa! Based on what I've read of these places, £5 is about £4 too much. I guess you're just lucky if you live near a good one.

Have to disagree with you there. Whilst freezing guiness is rubbish, at the end of the day, lager is such a **** drink that it needst he property of being cold to help add to the flavour.

Lets remember we are in a thread about 2 meals for £5 not a posh old restaurant/pub. :)

I went the other week, used a walkers crisp voucher from their rainy day promo and fed 7 of us for £32!

Sizzle in Bristol - Avonmouth is top notch especially at this price !

When there's a deal on you have always got to factor in the price of drinks as usually thats
where they make their money back.

Me & a mate had a groupon deal for a day at a golf resort - great swimming pool, sauna, fitness suite, nice meal & the golf if you wanted a round.

but £3.30 for a coke !!!!!! and it was watered down !!!

I think every one of these sizzling pubs as different standards, local one to me at swinton near rotherham is very highly recommended by me , also a large glass of coke is 95p and larger is £1.95 a pint, i prefer the 2 for £6 deal which as more choice , last visit had a steak pie and bbq chicken both where very good, had nice choclate fudge cake which was a bit expensive at £3.50 each, well thats what i thought until it arrived there was enough in one partion to serve 3 lol and got 2 scoops of ice cream with it, i ended up having the 2 meals 2 cokes and 2 fudge cakes with change from £15 and was stuffed.
