The Deep is very good and the centre of Hull is very modern and has some interesting museums. It's certainly worthy of a weekend break. It's had some bad press and sure it has some run down areas but where doesn't? If you stick to the hotel, marina, centre of Hull and the museums you'll have a great time. Fantastic new shopping centre as well. Don't knock it without trying it I say. Voted hot

Thanks matey, the kids wont notice anything but the good stuff, its what you make it

Having been to many cities Hull is no worse than many others. Kids love the deep and there are plenty of other things to do. Hull gets bad press but I would say give it a go, you might have fun

Hull is like many cities... it has its good points and bad. There has been a lot of money spent on the city and it seems to be improving. It has got a good night life and a few things to do... I think that this deal is great.

Dear god, even I wouldn't subject my kids to 2 days in Hell, I mean Hull! On the plus side though, York is just an hour down the road and the coast is close by so providing you have a car to escape, I mean travel around its a good deal :-D Voted hot

I live in hull and have done a fair amount of travelling around the UK following bands.....i can honestly say Hull is the nicest place i've seen. Most of the towns i've been to are not even close to being as good as here. Full of history, fantastic old town, lots of choice for nights out (not just the town) we have old town, new town, avenues, beverly road all have their own character and different cultures.

Just avoid the run down areas of Bransholme and Orchard Park and you'll have a good enough time, there's plenty of things to do for a weekend.

London is EXACTLY the same as Hull, only bigger. Everytime i go back up to Hull to visit family it keeps getting better and better. As a city it really is improving no end. It's just the belt of council estates it needs to shake off...

Hahaha!!!!!
I used to live in Hull as a student, It was pretty cool, It has been slated pretty unfairly, and as far as cities go Hull is FAR from the worst in the UK, the Deep is fab and the new shopping centre is great, I have a choice of Hull, York or Leeds for shopping near me, and I now choose Hull.
You might need a gum shield with some of the attitudes so far, but unlike Nottingham, liverpool or london you wont need a stab or bullet vest!!!!!!!!!!
