I've just stayed for 2 nights for 2 people in the Queenferry hotel (overlooking forth road bridge) which joins Fife and the capital Edinburgh for just £57.00 and a possible 10 % via quidco!!! ((£5.70). Thats 2 people, for 2 nights with full breakfast!

NOTE THE SAME DATES ON THE HOTELS OWN WEBSITE IS £156.00!!! EG
The Queensferry Hotel - Select Packages. Arrival Date Monday, March 02, 2009 Number of Adults in one Room 2. Departure Date Wednesday, March 04, 2009 Children 0. Room Standard Double Bedded Room with En-suite £156.00. http://www.foliohotels.com/queensferry/

I've not included quidco in the price but if you do get quidco this makes this deal an absolute steal! As it would take another £5.70 off so basically a possible of around £50 for 2 NIGHTS FOR 2 PEOPLE WITH BREAKFAST! NOTE use promotion code 901660 to get 10 % off and so make the price £57 instead of £61.

The breakfast is a buffet style yes all the works full Scottish breakfast, plus cereals, juice, pastries, yoghurts, fruit salad and so on. I sat in a table near the window and got an awesome view of the forth road bridge.

I didnt eat in the restaurant at night but they have tables which give an awesome view of the forth road bridge.

Note this seems to be a 2 days for the price of 1 promotion and as far as I can see its only valid Monday to Thursday in march 09. NOTE if you want to stay four nights you must make 2 separate bookings.

NOTE other sites have the same deal eg gtahotels at £31 a night, travelrepublic £31.48 etc but with the 10 % off 31.50 at hotelopia and a possible 10 % quidco it makes it a better deal.

This links should hopefully take you to it but dont forget quidco!

Ive grouped together a few points I forget to mention which people have raised :

only 19 minutes into Edinburgh from north Queensferry by train. (costs £4.60 for an off peak return.

note if coming by train it may be cheaper to get a train fare to edinburgh (you could even spend teh day in edinburgh before journeying to the hotel later on - train to north queensfery only 19 mins - and then pay the small difference (about £4) to north queensferry. also note you may get cheap fares to inverkeithing (the next stop) and just get off one stop early.

also note if you do add on a Friday stay and travel into Edinburgh on a weekend kids travel free anywhere in Scotland with adults remember to ask for it

Bless! You can almost feel the envy dripping off of some people :-) Just reinforces the old saying "There are only 2 types of person in the world. Those who are Scots and those who wish they were" ;-)

If you book 2 weeks in advance the trains seem pretty cheap to me... London - Edinburgh for £20 each return! Would cost 5 times that in fuel and take double the time if driving :)

Booked the last weekend in March, for 2 nights. £63 - 10%

Sorry me neither now, I looked at this trip just before xmas on national express, but it seems to have gone up dramatically. Apologies for getting your hopes up. Have you seen the national express deal on here for £1?

My wife and I stayed at the Queensferry the last time we visited Edinburgh. We felt it was decent value even at the regular price. One bonus is that the hotel is within walking distance of the Park & Ride.

Heat added for an excellent price.

Heat added. I love Edinburgh, 1 of the most beautiful cities in Scotland. I love going in the museum of childhood on the royal mile. Not worth me booking as i can go to Edinburgh anytime. Great Offer even so

I live there and Love it, Beautiful city I'm just angry at what the powers that be are doing to a great city, my point being as stated not the best time to visit a city when its being dug up, loads of unfinished construction and so much traffic.

Anyway this is not a rant thread or anti Scots England debate, thats for muppets.

If your in the Queensferry area Cross the Forth Rail Bridge and visit The Kindom of Fife, some wonderful little places.

So for £57 good value. Voted Hot:)

Although I now live in Aberdeen (I am a fifer), this makes me want to visit Edinburgh for a few days. North Queensferry is pretty nice, some great views of the bridge.

Ive worked in that hotel many times dj'ing at weddings. Its a very nice hotel. The views of the forth bridges is great.

It amazes me how many English people think that Scotland is full of hairy men in kilts and that we all live in little cottages in the highlands.

Scotland has plenty to offer, large towns & cities with lots to see & do, we even have motorways, just like in England.

As mentioned in a previous post, Princess Street in Edinburgh is closed to traffic just now, but the shops are all still open. You can jump on a bus or the train and still get there.

We stopped here last weekend and got it for £35 a night via a friend (before this deal came on). Personally would stop here again. Nice little (80rooms) hotel, in a lovely surrounding
