Shell is the same price as morrisons here. 116.9p a litre. £2 off is always helpful. Thanks
#7
112.0 where i live
#8
assuming you bought 20 litres and got £2 off, each litre would be 10p cheaper....i doubt shell is ever 10p more in a locality....here in lincoln it price matches local supermarkets and i noticed the one in scunthorpe (across from an ASDA) was 112.9 yesterday cos i got it.....at 102.9 with the discount, that is great (again assuming you buy 20 litres only)!
#9
Shell's 115.9 over in Leicester same as all the supermarkets. Need to fill up 2moro so this is ideal. Cheers

For anyone that thinks shell costs more than the supermarkets, just consider how many more miles you can go with good petrol. I swear when I fill up at asda I can see the needle going down as I am driving! Shell lasts a good couple of weeks in comparison to asda's week and a 1/4 per tank.

Appears vouchers are good until Friday and no limits on vouchers per car. So 20l in at one shell and then 20l in a few days later or at a different shell

cracking deal!! Shell is my local garage, half a mile away, and its always the cheapest i ever see, 112.9p at mo. Cheers OP! Can u buy papers at whsmiths with a gift card?
#27
Iirc paper is 65p
#28
Damn just sank £65 at Shell yesterday for Diesel, will have to give the voucher to the missus.
And for those that doubt the poor quality of supermarket fuels, ASDA inparticular. I do around 1500 mile a month so get a good idea of how good or bad certain fuels are.
ASDA diesel will consistantly give low 40s mpg, somewhere like shell 47mpg, ASDA diesel also makes my engine noisy as hell (Mazda 2.2)

All fuels come from the same refineries!

There are a limited number in the UK so the fuel is basically the same - the supermarkets do not have their own refineries!

A couple (Tesco for its 99 RON which I've been using in sports cars for 5 years) have additives but it's the same fuel essentially.
#30
Tesco petrol hardly has a good track record does it though?

Certain refinaries are better than others, member of my family worked in the fuel industry for 45 years. The fuel that used to come from Seal Sands in Hartlepool was shockingly bad.

Tesco supermarket petrol definitely gets less MPG, I watch mine all the time as I have a new car and have been trying to assess its economy. It has additives so less actual petrol per litre, Tesco is actually more expensive than shell where I live as well!!

Definitely the same for me - I get a good 50 miles per tank more when I use Shell over Tesco...

filled up my van with that shell v diesel by mistake the other day , cost me a few quid more and i thought the van was going to blow up!....sounded like an aeroplane engine. settled in now but looks like my mpg is going to severely drop. never again!. will fill the wifes car today with this voucher though....HOT!

A lot of people who monitor their MPG (usually because they do a lot of miles) seem to say that branded fuel gives better MPG than supermarkets.

I use Shell because they're the cheapest on my route to work. My MPG improved by about 1.5MPG a few months ago. I wasn't sure why. Then, Shell advertised their Fuel Save at my local station. A bit of a google a few weeks ago and there was a suggestion that Shell have been using this new fuel before advertising it.

Shell claim 1litre per tank (50 litres) so that's 2% extra which is about my own personal observation.

Not only is shell better, it's now improved! My local Asda is about 3p per litre cheaper but it's out of the way, it won't give me anything like the same MPG as Shell.
#37
Shell happens to be cheapest in my area. always competes with asda. great deal anyway. if u buy 20quids worth saves you almost 7 p a liter (this including having paid for the paper). which even if shell is more expensive than asda, its not 7p more expensive.
#38
Cheers. Tank almost empty so will buy a couple of papers and put in 2 x 20l over the next few days.

I normally fill up with Shell as it's the only one I pass on the way to work, but has anyone noticed a difference with their new Fuelsave fuel?
#39
Nice post - Shell is always the cheapest in my area so hot from me!
