It works for me. I can ammend fields such as start date, end date, price and topic for anybodies post on this forum and have done so several times in the past. I have no moderator priviledges, just a normal user of this site. Certain fields it won't let me change, such as the title and description - But if I need to do so I can add an extra paragraph to the end of the description. Here's the screen shot of the page that appears when I click edit:

A lot of people scan through deals based on the title. Try and be helpful to people and put the start date in the title.
Yes I know the start date is in the main post(although can be easily missed). But then again so is all the info like price, description etc.
Some have already driven to Aldi because they failed to spot the start date and a couple of extra letters in the title would have saved them a wasted journey.
