HMV are doing 2 PSP games for £25 at the moment. Some older games in the list but some very good ones and great for Xmas presents. If you use the £3 voucher code posted already that brings it down to £22. If you use QuidCo as well it should bring it down to under £20 - bargain!!

looks like a good deal but GTA (probably the pick of the bunch) is not treated as part of the offer once in the basket - is it just me?

it is not you

early on it had a offer sticker next to it and delivery time of within 24hours. Now the sticker is gone and the delivery time is 3 - 5 days which implies it is out of stock

that is why it is not part of the offer

Thanks for enhancing the post with the piccies Emma.:-D
A true masterpiece - I shall one day endeavour to work out how to do similar, but I never seem to have enough time on my hands!!

Shame about GTA - It was definitely part of the deal earlier, because I nearly got it for my nephew - It was in my inbasket and I was ready to push the button only to discover with a last minute phonecall to my sister-in-law that he already had it! Need for Speed it was then!!

"GTA: Liberty City Stories" must be back in stock now as the offer "sticker" is back:

I had ordered it a few days ago, just cancelled my order, and re-ordered [to claim more discount], and this title did give the correct discount in the "2 for £25" offer online.

PS. In-store there's a banner on display saying that if you spend more than £35, you can buy "GTA: Vice City Stories" for £19.99.

Unfortunately this offer is not on their web site :(

PPS. This site makes reference to Play.com offering "Vice City Stories" for £19.99, but visiting Play.com doesn't show this to be the case any longer :(

"Vice City Stories Sent To Play.com Bargain Bin
One of the UK's top online retailers, Play.com, have already banished GTA: Vice City Stories to their bargain bin, slashing a whole £15.00 off the street price.

The move comes less than ONE WEEK after the release of the game and makes it one of the quickest titles ever to have such a great amount slashed off its price and it is almost certainly the first PSP title to see this sort of activity.

The possible explanations for this are quite limited and would generally relate to overordering (deliberately or otherwise) on Play.com's part. As I pointed out on Tuesday, Vice City Stories hasn't been as popular as many would have hoped, thanks to lower-than-series-average review scores and poor word of mouth.

Once again I take the opportunity to remind Rockstar Games that PSP is a very capable platform with a lot of die hard users - certainly an informed market who would respond well to a brand new (read: no more recycling) title appearing on the handheld.

The price with Play.com appears to be valid only for today and is certainly not an error. Depending on the uptake of this offer, it may last longer. If you've not yet bought yourself a copy then £19.99 may be the price that gets you interested."

Apart from imports via eBay, has anybody spotted it for less than £27.99 at PowerPlayDirect?

GTA was definitely on the offer when I posted above, as I copied and pasted from the list on HMV. It's not working now though.

As for Vice City Stories, you might be better getting it from HMVas well - make your order over the £30 mark and use a £5 off £30 voucher code. I think this would work out the cheapest option. It's just up to you to do a bit of legwork and find something for £1 or £2 on the HMV site. Remember the 11% quidco as well.

...Oh yes, the sticker for GTA is there, but when in the discount is not applied in the basket. When I placed the order the total seemed higher than I thought... but I couldn't work it out [due to lack of sleep last night]. I've now looked again & the total is about £10 more than it should be (as the "2 for £25" offer is not being applied to 2 of the PSP titles).

I told you cancelling & re-ordering would cause a problem.

I am now going to cancel yet again & remove GTA & another of the PSP titles from my basket as I won't be getting the discount.

Ages hmmmm I should know that, shouldn't I :-D. Well they are both under 10.

I think I might go for burn out legends. It seems to get good reviews and I'm sure they'd like a racer. I'll just check with my brother to make sure they don't already have and of these.

Cheers for the advice.

I went for "From Russia With Love" (my 8 year old, 5 year old, & 4 year old all love the PS/2 version), and "Marvel Nemesis: Rise Of The Imperfects" (ditto the eldest two, but the youngest finds it "a bit scary, Daddy" although he does like to play as The Thing or Spider-man.

PS.
The HMV offer "2 for £25" for GTA may not be on, but it's still £17.99, although some competitive offers better this:

DIRECT4games: £9.99 + £2.00 postage - but out of stock
Gameplay: £14.99 delivered
Play.com: £14.99 delivered
Asda: £17.97 delivered

Just a quick note to say that I have just ordered "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend" & "Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories" PSP titles in the "2 for £25" offer at HMV.co.uk & the correct discount was applied [i.e. both are usually £17.99, but together the discount was £10.98], so the issue with the GTA title not being included in the promotion seems to have been resolved.

Note that in-store, the offer is "2 for £30".

Scum dogs, of course they would go and fix it when I have already made an order :-(

Ah well I suppose GTA was proabably a bit too adult for my nephews though that doesnt stop them loving it on their PS2

yup - gta liberty stories still showing as part of the offer - ordered this and 'cars' for £22 (including £3 off £25 voucher) - 2 very nice stockin' fillers for teenage son (and his dad :-))

That play.com psp deal for £124.99 (£122.49 after quidco) was the best psp deal i've seen, i was very close to clicking buy but i realised i just want a white psp that much more and the best deal for the albino psp seems to be £149.99 with Tekken DR from gamestation, do you know of a better deal?

Please could you post a link to it?

Review

PSP comes in a black colour, with a 16:9 widescreen TFT LCD centered in a sleek ergonomic design with a high quality finish that fits comfortably in the hands. The dimensions are 170mm x 74mm x 23mm with a weight of 260g. PSP features a high quality TFT LCD that displays full-color (16.77 million colors) on a 480 x 272 pixel high-resolution screen. It also comes complete with the basic functions of a portable player such as built-in stereo speakers, exterior headphone connector, brightness control and sound mode selection. Keys and controls inherit the same operability of PlayStation® and PlayStation 2, familiar to fans all over the world.
PSP also comes equipped with diverse input/output connectors such as USB 2.0, and 802.11b (Wi-Fi) wireless LAN, providing connectivity to various devices in the home and to the wireless network outside. The world of gaming is further enhanced by enabling users to enjoy on-line gaming, or by connecting multiple PSPs to each other, directly via the wireless network. In addition, software and data can be downloaded through a USB or wireless network onto Memory Stick PRO Duo. All of these features can be enjoyed on one single system.
PSP adopts a small but high capacity optical medium UMD (Universal Media Disc), enabling game software, rich with full motion video and other forms of digital entertainment content, to be stored. The newly developed UMD, the next generation compact storage media, is only 60mm in diameter but can store up to 1.8GB of digital data. A broad range of digital entertainment content such as music video clips, movies and sports programs can be provided on UMD.

If you fancy a Japanese import (with the sharper quality screen that you do not see on European/UK or US models), I would recommend eBay.

it was 125 for a couiple days then they sold out lol. good to see it reduced again :D Gives me the dilemma of 145 for the pack with tekken or 128 here without hmmmmm

My dilemma is that i want a bloody white one! i would've got the Black PSP for £122.49 at play the other day but that white one is so much more sexier, but i dont want the tekken game though, i get bored quickly with beat em ups

Someone please tell me where i can get the cheapest White PSP Base pack

I hate having to fork out more for a different colour don't you? it stinks, it's not fair play, i wanna see the White PSP for under £130 sometime soon, or it's gonna be a miserable christmas for me, hehe

I'm particurly looking forward to the WiFi and web Browser attributes of the psp although many say the browser sucks due to 4mb of ram

I thought however that they recently lost a court case with Sony regarding PS3's... maybe it didnt affect PSP and other stuff though.
