A bit of a follow up to the post by GlenEFC4EVA the other day (props there) - but I thought it deserved a post of its own.

A lot of the Wii games in the sale @ Argos are showing an extra £5 discount in your basket when you buy two - this deal doesn't seem to be listed on the site, so may be an error.

The games that seem to be included are:

Cooking Mama
Eledees
Rayman Ravin Rabbits
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
Cars
Avatar
Sonic Secret Rings
GT Pro
Spongebob
Pirates of the Carribean 3
Meet the Robinsons

I know they are not all great titles - but there are a few worth purchasing @ 2 for £35 - works out at £17.50 a game - I would go for Monkey Ball and Eledees personally........(or maybe Cooking Mama + Rayman)

There may be more games this works for - I haven't tried them all....
- dancrawley

Games also included:

Far Cry
Red Steel
- dancrawley

Delivery would be a fiver - so best to use store pick up
#5

I tried this instore on Wednesday but it didn't work. Got CS to try to locate the deal and apply and they failed. They did say to take in a print off the web and they will see what they can do. So I'm popping in later and will try to get my £4.98 back. Didn't mind too much as I used the Voucher trick and got 3 games including Zelda for 54.97 and another £5 voucher to spend.

have Rayman but daughter dont like it, finds the creatures a bit scary.

about to trade it in at game for fifa08

No - It works with any combination of the games I have listed in the OP - also working for Far Cry 2006.........
#13
does anyone know any trade in prices for these games? is it worth buying 6 games which would average £15 once you use voucher system then trading them in ? a quick reply would be helpful lol
#14
Rayman is no good for small kids. Scary, and quite difficult (even for adults). Eledees is a great game, but not for small children - it requires a fair bit of dexterity.

I've played Eledees it's child friendly and fairly simple to play at a basic level throwinf stuff around etc, might be tougher to actually play the higher levels properly though.
I've heared Cars while not a great game is good for children, haven't used it myself though.

If you add the Twin Remte Docking Station (568/0645) with the two games for £35, you get it for £10.

Hence two games plus Docking station for £45.

Just got back from Argos and saved myself £20.
#17
grr I just bought ravin rabbids for over £20 ach well.

what other 2 would you all recommend. Cooking mama and super monkey balls?
#18
i had just put spongebob and splinter cell in basket and it came up as £35 so i thought i would see how much with the wii console and saw the offer "save £30 when you buy wii console, mega pack (£29.99) and selected game" so added mega pack and console to basket with games and total came up as £219.99.:?

if you reserve for store pick up then buy 2X£100 vouchers then you can get this for less than £200 so that would be a cracking deal

I have both of these games, the girls prefer cooking mama but ALL the kids like SMB (due to the plethora of mini-games - not forgetting the main game too!).

So if you have both (ie girls/boys) then go with SMB

£19.99 + £15.01 + £9.99 = £44.99
instead of £19.99 x 3 = £59.97
Savings £14.98 :whistling: where did you manage to save that extra fiver :giggle:

If you want SMB go to blahdvd they've got it within their 2 for £30 promotion :w00t: otherwise the cost is only £16.95. So if you want both get CM from Argos with Raving then get SMB from Blah?

http://www.blahdvd.com/Blah/Promotion_Display.aspx?promotionId=1900000000000985&sortby=bestsellers

I think I already mentioned it before but in different thread. If you go to the following link:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5683525/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500006818.Video%2Bgames%3EC%24cip%3D1500006833.Nintendo%2BWii%3EC%24cip%3D1500006834.Nintendo%2BWii%2Bgames.htm

In the bottom half, you will see:

"Buy any 2 £19.99 Wii games from the list below for £30.00. To receive offer add both items to trolley. Offer ends 24th December 2007."

So, I printed it and had it with me this afternoon, ordered two games from the list and the showed the paper to the young lady. She asked the manager to have a look, and then the manager used her magic key, I got my two games for 30 pounds. After that, sold the one I didn't want for 20 pounds, worked out I only spend 10 pounds for Eledees.

Hope the link above helps some people here.

PS: just tried the link, the page only shows "product detail", you need to clink the "special offers", and you will see two games for 30 pounds in the bottom.

hi. I bought 4 games in argos this afternoon. they came up in store as £80, not £70. lady at the till was really helpful. I didnt realise but they are listed in the christmas gift guide page 224 as 2 for £35 (she knew as she was getting some for herself). had to get the manager to over-ride the till but got 4 for £70 ~ great for xmas.

Hey, which game did you sell for £20 and where? Thanks for any help:thumbsup:
#33
I reserved Zelda, Cooking Mama and Sonic last night and it showed as £54.97.

Went in to town today to pick them up and it came up on the till as £59.97. I said to the lady it said it was £54.97 and she just said well it doesnt say that now. I wanted all 3 for Xmas anyway and thought that was still a good price so carried on with them anyway.

I havent seen the gift guide, if I go back with my receipt do you think they will refund the £5?

Sold Cooking Mama for 20 to the shop on my way home, I need to check the name of the shop though (never really try to remember all the name, but always know I can get what from where). In the beginning, the guy only offered 17, but I said I can get better price from CeX (which I believe it's 19), so he added another 3. So, pleased with the result.

I think they have just removed the 2 for £30 offer. i was adding items to my basket and when i went back it had gone it was replaced with another offer which expires in Jan 2008. The 2 for £30 was no longer there.

Did you use the link I provided above? I just tried it and it still there. One very strange thing, I tried othere 19.99 games but I never saw that 2 for 30. I can only found it from Sonic and the Secret Rings. So, I would say try the link again, and if you can see it, just print the whole screen (6 pages long), and bring it with you to the shop. If you reserved the games, the price you got from the email will still be 35 (at least that's what I got when I reserved the Eledees and Cooking Mama), but if you show what you print to the manager, I think they will sell the games to you for 30.
#37
Nevermind.
#38
The £30 message is still there but if you add 2 games, it comes out at £35.

Bizarre.
#39
The 2 for £30 link is still there if you manually search for sonic and the secret rings and scroll right down to the bottom of the special offers tab. Printed this out and took into store yesterday and received Sonic and the Secret Rings along with Eledees for £30 (they had to manually overide on their system but no arguments). Bought along with something else to bring up to £50 and then used the £5 voucher to get Zelda for £15. Three top games for £45 - result :) Make sure you check for a store with stock before hand and reserve for pick up though as sonic seems to be far less available than most others.
#40
The 2 for £30 is there if you manually search for Sonic but it says...

Buy any 2 £19.99 Wii games from the list below for £30.00. To receive offer add both items to trolley. Offer ends 24th December 2007.

and the titles listed are...

Far Cry 2006 - Wii. 568/3501
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz - Wii. 568/3491
Rayman Raving Rabbits - Wii. 568/3477
GT Pro Series - Wii. 568/3453
Cars - Wii. 568/3439
Super Fruitfall - Wii. 568/3422

I tried adding Sonic to the basket but it just reverts to the £5 off offer.
